I just keep thinking about how Maud Gonne had Iseult live with her as her 'niece' for years, even though they both knew it wasn't true.

Those of you who have spent time in Turkey / have family connections, would you say that it is an increasingly divided society? Between rich and poor, advantaged and disadvantaged? That is the impression I get from observing and talking to some people who've spent time there, but I don't know if it's completely accurate.

Erdogan is an asshole though, I'd say we can all agree on that.

If he is friends with people in Ireland who share those kind of posts then he is actively consorting with a very shitty part of the Irish internet and blocking / muting him would definitely be *no* loss, should you wish to.

When I was visiting and asking for recs some people mentioned Fresh (I think that was the name) vegetarian restaurants, there's a few in Toronto. If you like Ethiopian food and don't mind eating with your hands the veggie special in Nazareth on Bloor St West is really something.

My comfort reads will always be the Tintin books. I love the bright colours, intricate plots, clean lines, simple characterisation and wordy speech bubbles. They always help me pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. A pretty problematic fave in many ways, but I still love them,
