For me I think doing big things for God is futile. I mean God is so great and so loving that our attempts to do something great for Him is like filthy rags. Our righteousness on our best day, even if you act like Mother Theresa, are attempts or life styles that are dirty rags. We can never be good enough or worthy enough to ever do anything for God. The only reason we even get to have eternal life is because of Christ, period. Not because of our acts or motives. I do not mean we should disregard living in a right way, I do mean living the best you can because even though our righteousness is like rags we still have the burden to live making quality choices for our own well being and for the well being of others, but don't forget that we came from the ground and that we are fleeting at best. I think that when we forget how broken and frail we really are, is when we create a life of pride and arrogance. We turn away from our need of God. He has invested His own Son's life for us and that kind of unconditional love is supernatural and way out of my own understanding. I come undone of thinking that Christ loves us so much yet we still because of our flesh and human nature, sin. I know this is depressing, I struggle with this a lot, but it's the true. we are mere mortals, period. We are lucky to even have a Creator that calls us His children. Lucky and blessed.

Noah, I love what you said here "God is quiet, yet im just learning to live in his silence and knowing that he is still pleased with me..." it's the most profound thing I've heard today. Thank you.

14 years ago @ DNSLNS - ITLT... Conflict | DNSLNS · 0 replies · +2 points

Conflict is diverse and unique to the people involved. It has it's own DNA and to sum up conflict in a 3 step "program" is unrealistic. The beauty of conflict is that it reminds us that we are all different and uniquely made, now I know in the heat moment you are not celebrating those differences, but conflict does bring strength to a relationship if it is resolved. Now the only reason why I am saying that is because I have experienced conflict and have worked through it. I have learned through many trials and errors to be where I am today. Having conflict with my hubby has been a learning experience for me and to say now that I do communicate and give him the bird if need be (just kidding ya'll) has definitely strengthened our relationship. He has learned to talk less and I have learned to talk more! I had a terrible way of communicating! I would be the closed dam, but there would be a whole body of water behind it waiting to be unleashed like a roaring flood, and you better watch out cause I may just crack! My poor hubby would have to be on pins and needles around me because I would ignore him and give him the silent treatment for weeks! I would belittle him and it was just really poor communication on my part. I think if you both take responsibility for your own mistakes and communicate honestly, conflicts goes away and your relationship becomes even better! I love you honey!
