Mr. Dinerman, may I suggest you look up the definition of 'burgeoning'?

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/burgeoning

1.
a. To put forth new buds, leaves, or greenery; sprout.
b. To begin to grow or blossom.
2. To grow or develop rapidly.

Which part of that definition does not apply to the situation discussed?

Baby steps = burgeoning

The day that Falcon 9 flies is the day that SpaceX can be said to have the capability that Falcon 9 provides. The tree will be bearing fruit, yet by your reckoning it will have happened instantaneously, without initial growth. No pixie dust is required for SpaceX to continue down their well-established path.

How many proven and fully qualified rocket engines must a company have in current production before folks like you are willing to call them a rocket company?

When the central premise of an article is so badly flawed, I can only conclude that you are pushing an agenda instead of providing an objective perspective.

BTW, while you've got your dictionary out, look up 'adjective' and 'gerund'. The word you object to is the latter, not the former.

Yep, ideas are cheap.

What has value is a *developed* idea.

Unfortunately I don't really have time for even this posting activity - I'm trying to find a new way of making a living - let alone develop this idea.

If anyone out there likes it and wants to make it his own, be my guest, really. It's not an ego thing at this point, really. That would be illogical. :-)

Hi Jane, thanks for the response.

So can I conclude that there is no place for earnestness in your world?

Nothing but umbrage, then? :-)

Just asking.
