West Ham Till I Die : Match Preview: West Ham v Middlesbrough

I'm sure we would all love to see that team but can't see it happening. Sam is not a 442 manager but the lineup you have suggested makes sense. Almost a diamond formation with Nobes spraying the ball around from deep and Nolan sitting just behind the front two, latching onto anything that Maynard doesn't. It would scare the living daylights out of Boro but alas we are unlikely to see it. 433 with players out of position, ie central midfielders playing on the wing. Collison has been poor for a few games now and needs to be dropped, not rested. If you're not doing it on the pitch then you shouldn't expect to play each week. After our run of form something has to change. I'll be watching the game via Hammers TV as a trip to East London midweek just isn't gonna happen. Beer already chilling in the fridge and the wife has a new book to read. Leaving work in 2 hours and then time to get ready!!!

If it's not broke, why fix it? I think the layout and content of the site is fantastic. You have guest posters every now and again whilst keeping the bulk of the blog your own. Kepp up the good work Iain.

West Ham Till I Die : Bobby Moore Must Never Be Forgotten

The only problem with Bobby Moore was his middle name and I've often wondered if he ever wanted to change it!! At 31yrs of age I am too young to have seen him play. But my father, who is a Saints fan, saw he play on numerous occasions and I remember well the day I said to him - "Dad, who was Bobby Moore?". He didn't shut up for 20mins, remembering the greatness of the man and the footballer. This coming from a non-West Ham fan. At that point I started supporting West Ham. I was 9 years old and wanted to be associated with the same Club that Bobby Moore played for. God Rest you Robert Chelsea Moore.

West Ham Till I Die : You Know You've Done A Good Interview When...

Iain, not sure I can add anything new to the excellent comments above. I have just finished reading the last part of the interview and found it thoroughly informative. To have someone like yourself - a trained and skilled interviewer - discussing all things West Ham with one of the current owners is nothing short of brilliant for the rest of us. 99% of West Ham fans will never have the opportunity to meet, let alone interview, the owners. Thank you for a job well done. WHTID has been the number 1 West Ham site for some time now and long may that continue.

West Ham Till I Die : Interview With David Sullivan

Iain, I echo many others with my congratulations to you for securing the interview - Sullivan is a busy man so to get a couple of hours of his time is a job well done. Can you offer him my services also - I have not played at a decent level, nor coached. But I am a fully qualified referee, 1 step below semi-pro so I would be able to tell the players exactly what constitutes a red card!!! We've had 4 this season and that is too many!!

West Ham Till I Die : Match Preview: West Ham v Millwall

I can see Cole starting as he is a handfull for defenders. Unfortunately I can see it being a 433 with Maynard playing out wide. Hopefully I am proved wrong and Sam goes for a 442 with Maynard alongside Cole up top. With Vaz Te and Taylor whipping the balls into the box, Cole nodding them down and Maynard picking them up we should see a few goals. In theory anyway!!

West Ham Till I Die : Results: Player Performances v Ipswich

Brilliant article. So Big Sam doesn't look to youth (as some people suggest on here). Personally I would rather take the word of Tony Carr. If two per year get into the first team then that is a job well done. Well, well done!!!

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Ipswich

A few people on here have suggested that Maynard plays on the wings - why??? He is a CENTRE forward, plain and simple. Morrison is most likely lacking match fitness so we might not see him for a couple of weeks. I would like us to go all out against Millwall; Green O'Brien Tomkins Faye Linda Vaz Te Nolan Diop Taylor Maynard Cole Diop will cover the back line allowing the other three to bomb forward. Maynard has said he likes to get in behind so will hopefully feed off Cole's flick-ons.

West Ham Till I Die : Transfer Window Rolling News

Something I have learnt over the past few days - let's judge a player on his ability AFTER he has signed for us. There is so much negativity about Maynard, Vaz Te, Marrison and Ze Eduardo. None of them have played in a West Ham shirt yet so give them a chance at least. They could turn out to be a Matty Upson or they could be a Paulo Di Canio. Everyone is of course welcome to their own opinion. I, for one, will remain positive because I believe Big Sam and the Board have done wonders in a short amount of time. I heard crazy rumours that suggested we are top of the league and that being top guarantees you promotion!!!! So life can't be too bad.

According to KUMB Bristol City are interested in taking a player on loan as part of the deal to sign Maynard. Well, there are plenty to choose from in the middle of the park. Take your pick Mr McInnes.

Valid point. Maybe a loan deal for him to get some first team football. To be fair he would walk into most Championship sides.

Everything I hear and read about Morrison (on the pitch at least) is very positive. I do wonder what that will mean for the likes of Noble, Lansbury and Collison. To be fair, Lansbury is only on loan, Collison has not performed for a while and Noble may have reached his level in the Championship. I understand Morrison is able to play wide but his best position is through the middle. If we sign all four players mentioned today then there will be some unhappy people in the dressing room. However, if they were good enough in the first place we wouldn't be looking at alternatives. Carew, Piq, Sears, Nouble, Collison - sorry lads but I think your time at West Ham might be up. Not fussed about losing any of them to be honest. Shame about Collison as I had big hopes for him but he hasn't been the same since his injury. Maybe a fresh start is just what he needs. We have an interesting 12 hours ahead. By 11pm I would like 4 new players and 3 points. COYI

Morrison is very highly rated and has been linked with a number of clubs - no doubt the scouts have done their job on him. Vaz Te - interesting one! If he continues like he is at the moment then we could be getting a top player. Sam knows him well and I'm sure he wouldn't buy him if he didn't think he would improve the squad.

West Ham Till I Die : Monday's Rolling Transfer Rumour Mill

Can't believe the Football League have given us a game tomorrow evening. With the window slamming shut I'm sure Big Sam would rather be at Upton Park trying to secure the last minute signing(s). But instead we are off to Ipswitch. Surely the entire fixture list tomorrow night would have been better moved to Wednesday.
