Almost a diamond formation with Nobes spraying the ball around from deep and Nolan sitting just behind the front two, latching onto anything that Maynard doesn't. It would scare the living daylights out of Boro but alas we are unlikely to see it. 433 with players out of position, ie central midfielders playing on the wing. Collison has been poor for a few games now and needs to be dropped, not rested. If you're not doing it on the pitch then you shouldn't expect to play each week. I do wonder what that will mean for the likes of Noble, Lansbury and Collison. To be fair, Lansbury is only on loan, Collison has not performed for a while and Noble may have reached his level in the Championship. I understand Morrison is able to play wide but his best position is through the middle. If we sign all four players mentioned today then there will be some unhappy people in the dressing room. However, if they were good enough in the first place we wouldn't be looking at alternatives. Carew, Piq, Sears, Nouble, Collison - sorry lads but I think your time at West Ham might be up. Not fussed about losing any of them to be honest. Shame about Collison as I had big hopes for him but he hasn't been the same since his injury. Maybe a fresh start is just what he needs.
