You should always closely moniter what your children are watching! I agree with that completely!
I like how you pointed that out! I would see the disagreement if those questions were still following the speech, because the speech should be about our children, not Obama! However, it is my understanding that he speech writer apologized for that section and said that it was misworded and they didn't mean as it sounded...then they removed it from the speech. Is that right?
I don't think the issue is as much racism as it is ignorance. Just from the comments I have read in all the stories related to this one, I think people are ignorant to what Obama is and what effect he has had on the country thus far. He has not been in office long enough to reap the effects of his work. People also see a man of muslim descent and fear him for that. I don't think people are against this speech because they disagree with what he stands for, but because they honestly fear him! Why do they fear him? Because of the Stupid Chain mail that when around when he was running...He's the AniChrist...He's a terrorist! In actuallity he is just a man who was elected president, who will do his job and we will probably watch as the economy gets worst because its too far gone for repair...then we will elect another president! I don't see what all the fuss is about!
Completely agree. Those are the two major issues that they want government to be invovled in, but when it comes to every other aspect of our lives, they want the government to butt out! I agree...we need to love eachother regardless of sexuality, race, gender, or religion! Why does it seem that those claiming to be Christians are so judgmental...do they not realize their own sins? Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean you have the right to judge. My parents are devout in their faith, but they love all even if they do not agree with their lifestyle! That is they way it was meant to be! I think you are absolutely right! Thanks for your post!
Nicely put and very true! I'm glad that you are making your child a priority by becoming invovled in this event!
Why is it that the majority of Americans demand that the government keep their noses out of religion except for on this issue! Who gives a rip if a man wants to be with a man...how does it directly affect you? I would suggest you simply look after you and yours and let other people worry about their own business.
I've seen that same behavior from opposite sex couples.
No I think we appear weak because of a great many things. Not simply Obama or Bush....We can't blame one man for making our entire country appear weak...it is afterall a functioning government of many parts. I was simply stating that Bush did a great many things that made us all look bad as well.
The names that you stated do not have a racial slur to them...Osama does...simply because his ancestry. Its racist that is the name that Walknaround was refering to.
ps. It doesn't have to be dramatic. All I am saying to be involved in it with your child. I think being an invovled parent is of the utmost importance and this is just the sort of opportunity to excersize your right to be invovled and participate in their education...not deny them of it.
