Thanks for posting this! I've seen critiques within reviews here about why the way UF treats addiction was problematic, but I always had a hard time figuring out why. I don't have a lot of experience interacting with people who deal with addiction, and the insights in this article were really helpful in clearing this up for me.

Yeah, I pretty much watched this episode in a state of disbelief. WTF. Why didn't anyone stop this? Just....no. I think there are ways they could have made a familiar work if they had put some work into it.

Also, I was kind of sad that they successfully killed a witch. I kind of liked that they had never managed it before. And apparently Bobby knew how to all along? Why didn't they pull that out when they met James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter? (Though I'm glad they didn't, I loved those two as witches)

I feel the same way. I spent the whole time I watched series 2 trying to figure out how he was suddenly so attractive. Then I tried to explain it to my sister and she just wouldn't understand.

I remember in high school reading a book that was a medieval fantasy, but in a matriarchal society (omg, lacking historical accuracy!). From what I remember, it handled the change of gender roles and how people felt about them fairly well, but the author never finished the series (as far as I know) so I've never gone back to reread it.

But this book sounds disgusting. I don't really have words. I'm glad I'll never be tempted to touch it.

Thanks! I need something to space out all of the ASOIAF podcasts I listen to, and all the other shows I watch are on hiatus, so I have no current podcasts about them either. Now I have a bunch of episodes to fill my time with :)
