Does iFaith work to save the 5.0.1 SHSH blog and APTicket? Is there a better way to protect the 5.0.1 blobs so I can always downgrade my iPhone 4S?

Is it safe to upgrade to iPhoneOS 4.0 (developer preview or whatever) if we have a 3.1.2 SHSH on-file? Can Apple do anything to prevent a downgrade with the SHSH on-file?

Can we restore to 3.0 or 3.0.1 if we have the iBSS/iBEC files? I found a tool that generates the SHSH but it requires the extra tmp director files (img3) that we weren't told to save... Thanks so much for any help!

The Iphone Spot : gpSPhone 6.0.1 for 3.0

I really don't understand how people can be upset at Zod for charging a measly $6.00 when he has provided a free application (and free updates) for such a long time. I've spent much more than that in the iTunes App store (Doom Resurrection, and many other $4.99 games) and haven't gotten as much enjoyment as I have with gpsphone. I really, really hope that this doesn't get pirated. I for one really appreciate the work that Zod is doing and am glad to see him get reimbursed a little for his work. Without him we would have NO EMULATORS for the iPhone.

Does MobileSubstrate slow down the phone at all? It seems like it would because it's adding additional functionality (and validation checks, etc) to the operating system... I've skeptical about installing WinterBoard and SBSettings because of that.

It took me three times to get a DFU restore to work. I kept getting 1604 errors. Is this normal? Also, how can I verify my IBEC/IBSS files? The files exist but I'd like to verify them if possible... (is this even possible? how can I tell if I got a good dump?)
