Very interesting story and yes all of these people were very active in our county as leaders. However, I remember going to "Saleeby's" and eating with my family, the best hotdogs you could ever find. When we went it was not on the square but was a door or two down from the square. I have never had chili that was so good since the place was closed. Thanks for the memory Mark and Mr. Peacock.

Janet Dennis, didn't say that. You are wallowing in the grime of this story, gossiping, just what the scripruews tell you NOT to do. Enuf said!

How dare you all sit in judgement! These people proctect you daily but when they are allowed to have time off with their co-workers and things get a litttle out of hand you all wallow in the grime. Heads up, we all make mistakes but theirs made the newspapers. You people are as rotten as they come and I don't know any of the people involved but do know that we all are imperfect.

Thank you Mrs. Reynolds for your insight on Patrick Swayze, I enjoyed the story. As for whocares22, you are very illbred and self-righteous. Your hate is like a cancer and it is eaying at your very being. God help you.

I heard it on our police scanner. Someone was pinned in a vehicle (Probably the car), an helicopter was called at the time but they were having to get clearnace for weather conditions and didn't have an eta for a good while. However, a patient was sent to RRMC by ambulance and the scene eventually cleared. Don't know when the helicopter arrived.

Good news Mr. Vanderburg. Just returned from the doctor in Charlotte this morning and signs were posted on Old Concord Road proposing men were working and installing 4 way stop lights at Concord and Beatty Ford Roads. Too late for your family but perhaps it will keep someone else from going through the horrors of losing lives at that intersection.

Mr. Vanderburg, I sympathize with you in the loss of your teenage daughter. We have in the past also lost a teenage son in a wreck/accident that left us scarred for life. However, I travel Old Concord Road all the time and there is a flashing caution light there and has been for quite a while. The problem is it sems too many are in a hurry to get where they are going and don't have their mind on what they are doing. Cars/trucks are not toys to play with and have fun, they are dangerous to drivers and non-drivers, we don't respect them enough. It has become and I/me world. The pain will eventually go away but the emptiness and loneliness will remain. Only through the mighty love, mercy and grace of God could our family have gotten through our loss. He will carry you through.

YEAH, we love those Boys of Summer, WOW, go for it.. Make us proud (we already are) but go for the gold. You deserve it. Rest up Shive, Veal, Troutman, all you good pitchers and players and give it all you got. Keep yourselves mentally and physically in gear. YEAH!!!
