I fear that these two men are on the same page when it comes to social engineering and economic justice. As Ronald Reagan and John Paul II brought down the Soviet Union, an alliance between these two will bring down Capitalism at a much faster rate. I am a Catholic, I respect the moral views of the Pope, but as a social and economic justice proponent I have to say he is almost as bad as Obama.
Here is something to reflect on. On Friday I went to my eye doctor for the first time in 5 years. I only had to wait a week for the appointment. During the examination she found 2 cysts that had to be removed from my eyes. They were not life threatening, they will not cause me to go blind if left alone, they just should be removed. She referred me to a surgeon. While driving home I called the surgeon's office and was asked when I would like to come in. I told them to give me a date. The nurse said how about today at 2pm. I said fine. It was 12:30PM when I made the appointment. I saw the surgeon and scheduled my surgery for July 13th. I would like someone in Canada, England, or any other national health care country to get a non life threatening procedure done that quickly. They want us to give that ability up. Why don't people see this?? I am beginning to think the attention span of American is 24hrs. Write, complain, protest, do what we can so that this travesty doesn't get put into law.
I just read the Paul Krugman opinion in the NY Times (please forgive me, a moment of weakness). If he blames the killing of Tillman on O'Reilly and the shootings at the Holocaust Memorial on Glenn Beck, then that logic leads me to the conclusion that he should be held responsible for the recruiters death by the Moslem Extremist, and travelling down that road, the NY Times should be held responsible for 9/11. How' s that for crazy logic?
I do stand with you. I have attended the tea parties, I write to my "representatives", I claim everything I can legally, I am a history teacher and I teach U.S. History the way it should be taught, but when I heard Harry Reed saying they will get it whether they want it or not, because he knows better, and I see or "representatives" pass bills they don't even read, I get the feeling they are not listening. We have to mount a challenge to them and shake them up.
Abraham Lincoln was a member of the Free Soil Party because he became disenchanted with the Whigs. The Free Soilers turned into the Republicans, they lost their first election in 1856 to the Democrats, they ran John Fremont against a Whig Candidate and the Democrat James Buchanan. In 1860 the new Republican Party won with Abraham Lincoln. The Republicans were a third Party. There is historical precedent for a viable third party.
But Newt was part of the "Contract with America" and we all remember what happened to that. Newt is tainted, leave him as a scholarly commentator. His credibility as a leader for me is shot. Romney/Palin or Jindal/Palin or the other way around seems to be better. Keep it away from the Washington insiders and Newt is an insider.
I think a third party must come from the grass roots. We can't depend on any of the politicos to do it for us. Once we have one started they will come to join us. I am willing to get the ball rolling but I don't know how. Does a new party need to be registered and if so where. Let's get it going from here. We are sured to get those that are sick and tired of the Republicans and the Democrats to come on board. Just point me in the right direction and I will attempt to get it started here in Fla. I even have a name for it, the American Patriots Party. Come on people, let's do this.
Now this is great idea by the White House. Avoids all those hostile questions form the mainstream media. Questions like "What has enchanted you about being President." Must not have any impromtu moments, Joe Biden gives us enough of those and now he is in Africa. Great idea White House, more "transparency" is what we need.
They lie, they make things up, they pass things that we are against and then when you write to them they respond that they respect your right to have a different opinion, so they will vote for what they think is best. How do you get through to these people???
