"Can you imagine a local news report on a rape allegation at a fraternity house taking this same perspective"

Yes. The DeAnza case, for instance, there was a lot of speculation in reporting on how the accusation would affect the futures of the defendants. Or how DSK's or Julian Assange's career aspirations would be affected by the accusations against them. And look at all the hand-wringing there's been for poor poor Roman Polanski. In journalism and in commentary, being accused of sexual assault is regularly held up as a greater concern than being sexually assaulted.

Hey, guys? Being a "womanizer" is not something to be proud of. Nor is it an excuse for not keeping your junk under control.

Love that second comment calling Jolie a "whore," also.
Oh shit! A woman's done something I vaguely disapprove of? Quick! Better impugn her chastity and thereby her value as a person!

I seem to remember hearing that Hoffman's break-out role in The Graduate was originally written for Robert Redford but, despite the strapping WASPiness of the character, Hoffman was given the role because of his impressive acting ability. Funny how I've never heard of an actress who looks like, say Heather Matarazzo or Kathy Bates being given a part that was originally written for someone like Scarlett Johanssen or Charlize Theron just because she's such a compelling actress.
And wasn't Dustin Hoffman in a rom com just last year? Last Chance Harvey? And, as usual with rom-coms, wasn't he 22 years older than his female co-lead, Emma Thompson? Yeah, male actors have it sooooo friggin' rough. *tiny violin* Show me a 70+ year old female actor in a leading role in a mainstream romantic comedy and I'll eat a bug.

So does, say, Ann Coulter not have white privilege because she lacks male privilege?

My point was that Foxx's statements weren't racist, they were sexist and misogynistic. And that Jamie Foxx has as much male privilege as Don Imus does.

The gender dynamics were the same. Foxx didn't say anything about race.

...and if someone's accusing you of racism for criticizing whiteness, that person's an idiot. Just saying.

I think a white woman identifying as a womanist is like a man identifying as a womanist or a feminist. It's nice that a person of privilege wants to identify with a group that doesn't have that same privilege, but it's just not entirely possible. There's an old second-wave saying regarding men who seek to identify as feminists, that in order to be feminists the first thing they have to do is double their workload and cut their pay in half. That same saying would apply to white women seeking to identify as womanists.
As far as other intersections like disabilities, I don't know if womanists are any better at including those than feminists but I still have some reading up to do.

That blog cracks me up, but I agree about the title and subtitle. None of the fat people I've known eat stuff like that. No one I've ever known has eaten stuff like that. Except maybe some drunk college kids on a dare.
By the way, I bought a head of cauliflower from Whole Foods a while back. Fucker ended up costing about $9.00.
