I was stunned to see the disregard for humanity, with ads showing Dion being crapped on by a bird. I was stunned by the lack of sensitivity to the father who critisized the Conservatives announcing they will pull Canadian troops out of Afghanistan in 2011. The father stated if we left before the mission was complete his son would have died in vain - the response was - "He is an Iggy supporter". The Conservative leader wasn't the one making the comment but he surrounds himself with this type of person - the man who did make these boo boos was a top campaign manager and he was suspended from the campaign (not fired) so he will be back in action soon enough - especially if there is a Conservative majority. I, for one, am hoping for a minority government, it keeps politicians as honest (or at least as close to honest as they can be). There is no arrogance becasue they know tomorrow they could be gone if they dont keep their campaign promises. I know Canadians are suffering voter burnout - but I for one would rather go to the polls once a year (if that is what it takes) to find a leader that can unite Canada then to let one get in because we are so sick of the whole thing.

During the last election I visited the Conservative website to read their "campaign promises" quote , unquote, and they were there for all to read. This election - new website - new campaign promises. That was only 19 months ago. Conservatives were ready to revisit gay marriage. They were in support of sending our troops to Iraq. They hinted that they do not support a womens right to choose an abortion. Those were key issues to how I voted. In less than 2 years ago and all of a sudden those issues cant be found on the Conservative website (or at least I couldnt find them today). I dont believe leopards change their spots.

In my mind there is ONLY ONE QUESTION. Do you want a Conservative majority? If you answer yes, vote Conservative, if you answer NO - you need to use your vote wisely!! This may be the most important election Canadians have faced. With our economy hitting a bump and the USA poised for an election that could see McCain as leader, I am truly frightened to think Canadians might be faced with a Conservative majority and a Republican President (what a mix that would make!)McCain gave an interview 6 months or so ago and he was asked, "If elected what are your plans for Iran?" He repsonded in song - Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran to the tune of the Fred Fasserts famous song "Barbara Ann". Well that chilled my bones. I am opposed to the war in Iraq, and I dont want to see Canadians drawn into another war led by the US.
