There is no language in the Constitution that says we are to have seperation of church and state. The Constitution says Congress shall make no laws establishing religion. There is nothing in this story that indicates establishment of religion. There would be no additional state $$ spent if the church had a baptism service than would have been spent if they had a bar-b-que. This is really pitiful! If a group of Wiccans wanted to go and pray to Mother Earth in the park no-one would say a word. We are supposed to be free to exercise our religious beliefs without governement intrusion in this country, but for some reason that only applies to non christian religions. Some of the taxpayers that fund that park are Christian, some are not, so it seems to me that the use of the park should be open to those that are and those that are not.

What country is TESCO domiciled in? If they don't want individual lease holders flying the American Flag they should go and try to make money owning property in Iran, Cuba, or some other place where that won't be an issue!

The property owner(who is a foreign company) doesn't seem to mind the freedom to own property and make a profit that is afforded them by the individuals who fought and in many cases died or were maimed defending all that flag stands for. The doctor should vote with her $$ when the lease is up and move to a different office complex!!!

You have summed this whole thing up perfectly! Well said!

So you must be in high demand as a mind reader!! The flag appears to be flown properly on a well constructed flag pole. How is that crass???? I'm not half the mind reader you are but I bet you haven't served in the military or lost a close loved one while they were serving. Just a guess from a non-mind reader.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to vote with your $$$$...the only language that foreign companies are sure to understand. When the lease is up GO and find a location that doesn't have the same restrictions in the lease...in the meantime...Fight for the right to fly that flag. It should be allowed to fly anywhere over US soil that the owner or lease holder/renter chooses to put it up. This is not some cheesy looking banner flapping in the wind at a used car lot...it's the American Flag, flown properly on a proper flagpole.

You are right about the impact on someone making 20k. I think this is easily resolved by doing what we do now and not requiring people earning below a certain threshold to pay any income tax. A two tier system would be fair and greatly simplify the tax code. 10% for the middle clas and 20 % for the high wage earners. The numbers would need to be automatically indexed over time. I think that if someone making 100k pays 10k, then a person making 1 million who pays 200k has paid thier fair share.
The real answer is to reign in spending in Washington. They will spend all they can confiscate. It doesn't matter how much we collect or from whom, if the obscene spending continues, it will never be enough.

It is a myth that taking the profit incentive out of the equation makes the healthcare cost less. The reason is that government is a VERY ineffecient administrator. It doesn't matter what they administer, they are less effecient than a well run private business. Look at the Post Office. UPS and Fedex continue to be profitable, while the USPS is losing money. Look at any government building project. Just look at the recently completed visitors center in DC. It cost 4 or 5 times what it was supposed to.
