For the record...My son is a student at little cherubs, my husband and I are the other people who commented on this article.. I have never met the person in the interview but I feel the same way.. I have attended GCC on more than one occasion, and there were several things I did not like..everyone is entitled to their own opinion, by no means do I want to get in the middle of whatever problem you have with her..However, that being said..the type of person she is has no relevance to the fact that GCC miss-led the parents and staff at little cherubs.. I have full faith that God has a plan for the school and that they will find the right place to continue providing an excellent Christian education for their students (both current and future). After attending the Christmas program the school put on I do have to wonder how a church does not have a single cross at the building, inside or out, i did not see on anywhere..also didnt see a single word of scripture..found that very odd personally.. And in my opinion that auditorium looks like a modern day production studio rather than a church, i was sad to see the wooden pews and stained glass windows had been replace with clear glass covered by large black (curtains?) , and padded chairs, as well as dark grey paint on the walls and metal scaffolding in the ceiling..just didnt feel very inviting, seemed kind of dark for a church (just not my taste I guess, but to each his own)
I find it incredibly sad when large, money hungry "churches" create franchises and seem as though they care about nothing but where the next dollar will come from.. I myself have attended GCC in Granger and did not in any way feel welcomed, the church in my opinion is simply a production aimed at making money.. This is the only church i have EVER been to where you can be both a regular attender and a stranger at the same time..whatever happened to having a church family and caring about one another. I have been there on more than one occasion and never felt like i would ever be recognized. and not once did anyone even introduce themselves to me, it was as if they cannot tell who is new..and as far as the school in concerned, I cannot fathom how it would be so difficult to transition from preschool during the week to childrens church during the weekend.. I know for a fact there are many churches in our area that house both a fully functioning multi grade elementary school and church within the same building and have done so for many years so i dont see why it would create such a problem..GCC can give all the excuses in the world and would still not be able to convince me that they are doing this for the good of the school, how is it in any way good to terminate a lease and potentially leave people without jobs. I am extremely disappointed with the actions being played out by GCC, the preschool truly is an amazing place for learning in a Christian based environment. The staff is a wonderful group of people who are commited to providing an excellent place for early childhood learning. I pray that they will be able to find a place before may so that none of the wonderful teachers will loose their jobs..
