Can't see this in thread so please don't shoot me if this is answered elsewhere, just point me there!

I have an iPhone 3Gs jailbroken us blackra1n, version 3.1.2(7D11) Firmware 05.11.07

Great all is good until the other day. After working fine for 2 months I have lost wifi connectivity, not sure why but I gather it may need to be returned under warranty.

If I do so I might get slammed for having jaibroken it. Is this true in th eUK?

Actually I only jailbroke it to use Vodafone network and sim. It was an o2 pyg phone.

Now vodafone have the iphone will a reinstall with losing the jailbreak be ok? If wifi still does not work then I can get it fixed under warranty.

What do you all think?

Simple, quick and easy process.

Jailbroken via dev team 3gs, unlocked with cydia blacksnow in seconds. Reset network settings.

All works well, who cares about youtube, it will be fixed.

great job

Those of us unfortunate (stupid) enough to be on the so far unlockable baseband are being told we have to waite for development to start to break the next baseband release (which if I were apple I would delay indefinitely).

Lets say I wanted to unlock to get on the Vodafone network, will things change when Vodafone start sellign iPhones? Would it be likely to update my O2 phone to get on the Vodafone network? Any thoughts welcome.

It really does work on an iPhone 3GS.

Here is what I did, where I went wrong and how I fixed it, not saying this is the exact method but it worked for me.

Starting point iPhone 3GS firmware 3.1 with the baseband 05.11.07, I won't embarrass myself how I ended up here but it was a mistake!

Attempt 1, did not work. I downloaded the 3.1.4 PwangeTool with the 3.1.2 (7D11) custom restore. Possible mistake 1, I did not unpack the PwangeTool to disk on my Mac, I ran it from the disk image. This then failed and locked iPhone in restore mode.

I then (using iTunes 9.0.1) restored iPhone to firmware 3.1.2 using default Apple iTunes install file.

I then repeated the install process with PwangeTool having properly unpacked the PwangeTool and all worked well.

I followed the instructions from iClarified site.

Now bring on the unlock, well done dev team.
