Men who have penile dysfunction can get it up without the use of medication. If they can't get it up without the use of medication, that means they are using unnatural means to get an erection. Without those unnatural means, they can't get a woman pregnant. THAT makes them unnatural. 3. Alexis: To restate my point . . . Dan Choi and James Pietrangelo won't accomplish much with a hunger strike - other than media attention, which is exactly the purpose - because too many people in this country deal with hunger as a very real issue. Those of us who understand that hunger is nothing to throw around like a fuckin' media trophy piece won't be impressed by this move at all. PRETENDING one is sacrificing something (when clearly they're not because they made 1 decision although they had several others to choose from, like chaining yourself to the White House fence instead) is just BS. Let's call a spade a spade. This hunger strike is designed to snag attention that's been diverted from these two for the past couple of weeks. It's a pathetic way to get their name back in the news. Equating Ghandi's hunger strike to what these two are doing is grossly inaccurate and should be deemed offensive to Ghandi and others who do hunger strikes for something other than media attention. Since the news broke about the DADT compromise, I've been bombarded with press releases from Dan's people asking us to INTERVIEW him. Clearly Dan's trying to get his name back in the news. The lack of spotlight lately must be killing him.

Mark: Dan Choi makes more money running around the country getting paid for speaking engagements in ONE MONTH than he would make in 6 months of weekend duty as a reservists. I'm still withholding judgment about the film until AFTER I've seen the film and AFTER I've spoken with Israel Luna. Do I think only transgender people can understand transgender issues? Absolutely not. But, I can tell ya this much: if you're not transgender and you're trying to speak about transgender issues, you can bet your ass you'll piss off more than a few transgender people. The same is true if you're a white man speaking about racism and trying to be an ally to Black people. A lot of Black people won't give that white man a snowball's chance in Hell to be an ally. They'll criticize every word he speaks and take jabs at his sincerity at every turn. I often find myself wondering the same: Is it time to separate the T from LGBT? I mean, we can't seem to do right by the T segment of our community. And most of the time I've learned that no matter what you do to try to reach out to the T in our community, you'll get your arm bitten off more than half the time. I've learned a lot about the T community in the past year. I've learned: * What makes half the T community angry, the other half won't give two shits about. * Lots of transgender people are indeed gay (or queer, as many of them identify). I won't even tell ya how many GAY transmen I've met who used to identify as butch lesbians. I met A LOT in February at Creating Change in Dallas.

Jay: I received an email from the DCCC today. The email used the scare tactic of "it's us against them, send us money." And I quickly hit the unsubscribe button and tweeted this: http://twitter.com/SistersTalk/status/11095497201 It's been awhile since I've allowed any of the Gay, Inc to send me email asking for money. And pretty soon, I'll be ignoring some smaller grassroots organizations that appear to be more interested in fame than fighting for equal rights. If they THINK (for one second) that we won't see thru that BS, they have another think comin'! I'm growing increasingly annoyed with Rachel Maddow. I noticed that she will often criticize Republicans for the same thing Gay, Inc is doing. Also, she constantly (and loudly!) criticized Obama for asking the LGBT community to wait for equality, but sat silent when the HRC did the same thing. Is she on the HRC's payroll or something? And please don't get me started on the "big" LGBT bloggers who were the PR arm for Gay, Inc for a long, long, long time - until Gay, Inc stopped buying ad space on their blogs. Ha! From there, those bloggers joined the anti-Gay, Inc bandwagon - not because they give a damn, but because they're mad that cash cow has dried up (and they're hoping to find another cash cow in one - or more - of the grassroots organizations that have sprang up since Prop 8). And to think . . . they think we're all too damn dumb to notice what they're up to.
