I'm trying to figure out why the 'Students For Liberty' must deal with foreign policy when all they are trying to do is hold a conference about liberty and discussing how to best implement it in the US. These are NOT political leaders here. Try talking to those at CPAC and the DNC Convention about that. They are the current ones in power who could be doing something along the lines yer asking for, not college students at a convention who are, admittedly, in the minority .

With a Democrat in the WH, Democrats controlling Senate, and Republicans controlling the House...no excuse for THEM to be doing something if it needs done. Those are our policy makers not students in college.

According to Steve he too was kicked from the Tuscon AZ Tea Party. He was also heckled by them and prevented from speaking at a debate. I highly suggest speaking with him yourself on Facebook. He's a nice guy, smart as hell, and a great Libertarian.

Ya know with the issue of the blame game, that bring s up my Tea Party incident. I belonged to the local Kingman AZ Tea Party FB page. Now, while I'm no right wing man I do think the Tea Party is a viable tool for massive education of the libertarian values. Their whole thing is Less Taxes, Less Govt, More personal freedom. However when I brought up this was libertarian I was aggressively told I was wrong. I also had to remind them the Tea Party was non partisan. It was a grassroots movement for everyone who loved liberty. I would chastise their insulting of the Democrats and their almost savage support of taking away freedoms of gays. I used your advice and was eloquent, well spoken, used facts, and thanked them for their opinions. However I was booted from the group. I was called a 'Verbal Terrorist'. This when I argued for gay rights someone was using the word 'fag' and lots of cuss words. Him they refused to discuss but 'I' was a 'verbal terrorist'.

I keep tabs on them on FB with another account because mine is now blocked from even bringing up their page. They were the FIRST, within hours, to jump on the same blame game pointing out an interview with a former 'freidn' who called him liberal minded. The blame game was on both sides. Sad, it shouldn't be.

The good news in all that mess is I have become good friends with Steve Stoltz, congressional candidate for AZ who is a Libertarian and was personal friends with David Nolan. He's a nice guy with a large mind. He pulled 4% of the total vote in his district which is awesome for a Libertarian. Good things come from bad. Getting booted from a local Tea Party for having differing opinions and speaking my mind was bad but it brought me a good friend in liberty in Steve Stoltz.

Satire is a good thing. This issue got taken WAY out of proportion and all it deserves is being poked fun at. Great job Wes.

The real primary concern of anyone should be that the Tea Party is first and foremost NOT a GOP tool nor support machine. The Tea Party is primarily made up of libertarian ideas and concepts. Something we had as a platform long before it became 'fashionable' to jump on board with.

We should be expressing the point more and more that this is Libertarian in concept NOT Republican. People think its a GOP thing because we Libertarians have allowed it. I've been kicked out of Tea Party local groups for consistantly reminding them of that fact. They have hijacked the one tool that should have been ours. We allowed it.

You won't find one atheist who denies the existence of their rights. As you said people instinctively know it already, no one has to back it up with mythology to prove it or explain it. That's basically the point.

I am atheist. I am also Libertarian. I have no pre-concieved notion indoctrinated upon me by my parents or society which has been indoctrinated into believing in ANY mythology. I do believe in the basic rights of simply being. You don't need to point to ANY form of mythological being to justify them, they simply are.

From the Atheists I know, this is the case also. They don't need to have it 'explained' to them like they are children or poorly informed because they don't believe in a myth. They are educated, highly, informed, knowledgeable. Most atheists I know know more of the bible and religion than most christians. In fact recent studies verify that. It was atheists who knew more of religion than anyone else by a large margin. Atheists know reason and logic. So to think one would have to explain having basic rights to them is pretty self gratifying because the reality is that it doesn't need done. The discussion doesn't need explained to Atheists....they already know.

This IS how police should react and yet....these guys are trying to incite reaction. I'm sorry but if anyone assaults them for doing this stuff, it's their own fault. There is a right way and wrong way, and this way is just asking for volatile reaction. A match to the oil on water so to speak.

I'm atheist but what do I know. I don't see any case for theologists but the earth and man were made by 'magic'. Simplifying but you get my point I hope. Whereas there is hard science proving evolution even in todays world of biology. Bugs, reptiles, even humans. Plus with the work of 'de-evolution' in DNA experminets we are being provided more proof.
