For REAL TAX REFORM, let the Tax-payer decide what their tax dollars should be used for! Supply a questionnaire to each tax-payer with a list of items that require tax money to support them. Each tax-payer should be asked to enter the percentage of their taxes that should be used for various items. Defense, Education and a few other items would be allotted a certain “standard” percentage that you could not decrease but you could increase. The total must add up to 100% (or more if you choose). Every citizen would have the opportunity to “Vote” with their tax dollars as to what programs and projects are important to them. The total allotted funds for each item would be determined through this voting process virtually eliminating “Pork Barrel” spending. I will begin this experiment with a reply to this post.
