I agree the neighbor should have called the police, but they may have. I have called the police in portland for screaming and being concerned, I was told they were too busy with more important things.

I hope they catch the person who commited this horrible crime.

I personally know that the owner and his employees treat their pets as family. I have been there on several occasions when they were outside photographing their birds. They are also always carrying one pet or another on their shoulder. I am sure that the owner was easily able to identify his bird. I have had people steal my pets in the past and was mortified. Luckily I have gotten all but 1 back. What pet theives need to realize is that most pets are like family these days and you don't mess with family.

KND, I know that this entire thing has gotten you upset, but lets get real. This guy will be judged as he was caught in the crime. Hopefully he will get the help he needs wether it is with drugs as people seem to think or just theft. Either way he obviously needs help. If he is smart hopefully he will learn from this and give up his theiving ways.

I always liked seeing the REAL trees decorated in Newberg and McMinnville for as long as I can remember. I guess they are now looking at them being a fire hazzard. It's sad how times change the way we do some things. And I gotta ask, is the tree made of gold for that price? Damn.
