Its from abroad so I ordered it from ebay, at least theres a way to unlock, I dont mind the wait. Thanks

I have the same issue, my iphone is not activated and I dont have the original sim. I think for SAM to work you need Cydia so your phone has to be jailbroken. I still cant find a way to jailbreak mine since its not activated :(

I read about SAM, it will unlock the iphone but I need to jailbreak it first, I dont think I will be able to that without activation right?

Hi guys, I recieved an iphone 4s as a present from Ireland but I live in london. Its on an Irish network called Meteor. This is not supported in UK so I cant get it unlocked or even activate the phone :( can anyone help me? what are my options? I googled it for hours but gevey sim card seems to be the only option,
Will gevey sim card work if the phone is not activated?
Is there a way to hactivate the phone?
any help appreciated

You can do it easily on cydia by press " Make My Life Easier" or you can use a software called Umbrella

you can do that on iphone 3gs, it works on mine with software 3.1.3

You cant restore to 3.1.2 without SHSH files, you can only update to 3.1.3 which can be jailbroken but not unlocked at the moment
