Not a bad idea but most of the land is in the middle of nowhere and would not be worth much. At $5,000 per acre that is only $3,250,000,000,000 or a bit less than the budget they just passed. It wouldn't reduce the national debt at all as it is less than next years budget. Trimming some agencies would help though.

This short video very cleverly illustrates the level of spending we are experiencing. Well worth watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5yxFtTwDcc

The most frustrating thing about all of this is the one sided reporting where they marginalize and lie about how many people were there etc. It makes it very difficult to get our message out when people are told we are all lunatics and that there are only a few of us. The fact is that we are normal people and there are lots of us. We need to make this fact known somehow. Maybe pool some money and run ads?

The liberals HAVE to pay people (rent-a-mob) to show up and pretend to protest. It is only natural that they would assume that we have to do the same thing. It just shows how ignorant and arrogant they are. Also, it shows how dumb they are to believe that all of these middle aged and elderly people are paid shills for the Republicans. Olberman needs to go back to sports announcing.

I know. I was simply saying that I didn't think he was a hypocrite. I actually have coverage for my two kids. I canceled the coverage for my wife and I due to the cost but kept the kids insured.

Responding to a reported break in is not "barging in unannounced". Moreover, when the homeowner comes to the door, the cops have no way of knowing if there are home invaders in the house and MUST enter to be sure everything is OK. Try applying a bit of logic for a change.

"And if my kid was sick and I couldn't afford healthcare, I would damn sure want Obama's Health Plan to pass, and pass right away. Does this make me a hypocrite? " No. It makes you a dad. I have a 7 year old daughter too.

I also stated that the site is satirical. It was pretty obvious to anybody who spends any time online at web forums or blog sites. It just doesn't have a natural flow to it and is obviously contrived. I am not a troll as I have made many posts that I feel are a positive contribution here. I am not a moron as I was able to determine inside of 1 minute that the site is not real. I do agree that the site is tasteless, but we are supposed to be about free speech and liberty here, right?

"I'm looking forward to the MSNBC spin on this one. " It will probably go something like this: George Herbert Walker Bush broke his "Read my lips, no new taxes" pledge and President Obama, faced with a similar tough choice, has had to backtrack on his promise to lower taxes on the middle class. The economy he inherited from George W. Bush has turned out to be much worse than anticipated and the president appeared to have no alternative. He was elected to make the "hard" decisions and it looks like he has delivered once again.

They also raised all of the tolls in Florida by 25 cents. Don't get me started on the property taxes or property insurance rates.

They are brainwashed. You will hear them say "but didn't you hear what Obama said?" It hasn't fully dawned on them that he says whatever is politically expedient and will abandon them if it suits his purpose. We have an overabundance of misinformation and ignorance in this country. The media is largely culpable.

I watched the Summers interview. He actually said that their first priority was to save the economy and that now that they have done that they can get to other things. I laughed till my sides hurt. These people actually think they have fixed the economy and that the recession is over because we are only losing 450,000 jobs per month instead of 500,000 and the short sale houses are selling to investors. Talk about grasping at straws.

We could tweak this amount by age. Younger families would have lower premiums and therefore would not require as much help. The extra money would be used to help the elderly since they have higher medical costs. Since our plan does not allow age discrimination, and the extra money we are talking about here would in theory cover the premiums in full for the elderly, we could then offset ALL of these expenditures by eliminating Medicare and Medicaid altogether.

Pre-existing condition - You get a policy and a month or two later do not feel well. You go to the doctor and he tells you that you have Cancer. The tumor is large and has been growing for 5 years. This is a pre-existing condition because you had it prior to obtaining coverage. Under our plan you would be covered if you did not know about the condition and the insurance company either did not require a physical to obtain coverage or the disease was missed during the physical prior to policy issuance. There is precedence for this type of interpretation as most homeowners policies have a rot endorsement that covers hidden rot inside walls, above a ceiling or below a floor that were hidden from view and unknown to the homeowner. The same principle would apply here. ****************** Pre-diagnosed condition - You go to get a policy and the insurance carrier asks you to get a physical and it is determined that you have terminal cancer. You would not be covered for this or issued a policy as insurance is designed to insure against the possibility of something happening. If that something has already happened, forcing the insurance carrier to issue a policy and then pay the claim turns the insurance carrier into a charity since they have taken the potential for profit out of the equation. In the event that the physical or a review of patient records reveals a chronic and treatable disease that is not life threatening, the insurance carrier shall issue a policy but may exclude the diagnosed disease from coverage at their discretion. ********************* A central data bank shall be established to coordinate the efforts of clinics, hospitals, health care facilities and hospice type programs who offer low cost or pro-bono care in an effort to aid patients with catastrophic illnesses that are not covered by insurance.
