Big Government : GOP Leadership to Freshman: We'll Stop Paying You if You Shut Down the Government

And that is exactly why both RINOS and libs don't want a shut down...It would truly expose to the American people how much is wasted and unimportant to the running of the country. They don't want the camel's nose under the tent

Big Government : What Can You Do To Take Back Education?

Also, know your state's freedom of information act/law and how it applies to your local school board and your state department of education. School boards and administrators love to reveal only the information they want you to know and present it in a way that always tells the story they want told.

I finally decided after many years of trying to make changes in the district that the best thing for my children's education and my sanity, was to take my money and leave. The final straw was when the superintendant said they are looking at a 4 million revenue shortfall from the state and a declining enrollment of about 200 additional students and their primary goal was that no teacher lose their jobs (even though salary and benefits are 85% of the district's budget). Anyone with an elementary understanding of business would understand this flawed thinking. Of course, they still get my property taxes, but they will no longer get my "per pupil" monies, and they will never receive my vote (or husband's) for any increase they need for their schools. Might as well starve the beast that one little person is capable of doing.

"Most school systems are run by people with no clue related to good management pratices and intelligent budget and money management." Amen to that! They have not even the basic operational understanding of free market even when it comes to mill levies and bonds and trying to understand why these don't pass. And those of us who have tried to point out glaring errors in their thought processes and operations, are branded as extreme. They've never had to "work" to obtain their revenues. School districts receive revenue regardless of how the market views them and whether or not a payor wants to consume their product. Well, they do receive monies from the state per each child enrolled, but the 73% of our area's property taxes go to the school district whether a tax payer uses the product or not. I'm not sure how other states work, but this is how it is done in my area of Colorado.

That is the same ad the NEA ran against Buck in Colorado (of course forgetting to include the elimination of the income tax), and unfortunately, since many people don't read for comprehension or research information being provided to them, the ad was very effective. But then again the CO GOP or Buck didn't counter those accusations...well at least not that I heard or saw

He surely was especially with his largess of taxpayer money for new government programs, expansion of government and illegal immigration! Michelle Malkin's article today touches specifically on why GW miserably failed conservatives in the US. He just actually looks really good in those areas because of the faker in chief is really just that bad. At least GW loved America and its culture and its exceptionalism
