Someone told me recently that I was their spirit animal and all I could think of was this and I am SO EXCITED.
I am also with a friend who apparent wrote a Kim Possible spin-off featuring Shego and her elementary school music teacher.
Before I knew what fan fiction was, I wrote a Harry Potter self-insert fic when I was eight in a Harry Potter journal in which I was Hermione's younger sister and Harry fell in love with me.
And then, freshman year of high school I was in a major Rose/Scorpius phase. Aaaaand one of my friends in college tracked the first one down and of course shared it with everyone we knew. Luckily I pretty much exclusively wrote fluff.
I'm finishing up an old job and starting a new job at the same time, so I'm getting paid for two part-time jobs right now, which is going to be nice! My dad also told me that he will be paying for my plane ticket to a family wedding in October which is great because I was super stressed about finding an extra $300. Plus I'm getting my security deposit back from my old apartment back sometime soon which will hopefully help to stop the Chase Low Balance Alert emails for a while. Depending on how much was detracted from a big cleaning debacle, I might finally buy some more much-needed business casual clothes so I can stop putting cardigans over tiny dresses I wore to high school pretending they are business casual.
This article is awesome! I'm gonna be spending so much of my free time on that Tumblr. I may have once given a speech after a giant margarita about how Captain America is the greatest man who ever lived. More drunken speech fuel!
I've been keeping this on the DL in real life, but I've been itching to share it with people so this seemed like a good place? I got a new job that's actually in my field, and I am so excited about it! It's only for a year (til I graduate) but it's gonna be pretty sweet getting paid to plan events after a million unpaid internships.
I'm rereading Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. I've definitely grown out of my high school John Green phase, but it is fun reading it four years later since last time I read it I was a 17-year-old in New Jersey, and now I'm a sorta/kinda/not really adult living in Chicago, where it is set! So fun when the characters are like, "We were driving down Sheridan," and I can be like, "AYYYY I KNOW WHERE THAT IS!"
(Though I got a little choked up recently because one of the characters asked another character to go for a late-night walk downtown which my best friend and I always do, except he has been in Spain since June and isn't back for another few weeks.)
I started the first one last summer and got about halfway through before I moved and lost time to pick it up again. But I'm looking forward to starting it over again!
I went to Harry Potter conventions throughout high school, but the one with the most of our group of friends was when I was 16. We decided the cool thing to do would be to sit in the elevators while other people rode them. Like ten of us would spend hours in those elevators just hanging out inside of elevators.
At another Harry Potter convention when I was 19, we decided that the main elevators were too crowded so we took the service elevators for the remainder of the convention. That's also where the ~fandom celebs~ were taking the elevators so the hotel staff didn't give a fuck.
I don't know why my teen dirtbag experience revolve around elevators and Harry Potter but oh well. *flies out on broomstick smoking a cigarette*
