Yeah, I think I've heard that comparison as well...it really fits seeing as how the disciples remained a bit confused about the Kingly role Jesus would play right up to the point of the ascension!

Easy to do because of how widely it is misquoted and how the slight change seems to solve problems we might have with the actual language! In all fairness, I think some change it in an attempt to be careful not to call God an agent of evil in any way, which is of course true...there is no darkness in Him!

Thank-you, my Dear. I have been looking forward to studying and writing on the life of Joseph and am actually working some more on it at the moment! He is such a "diamond in the rough" when it comes to the book of Genesis, and we have so much to learn from his life. I'm glad that God has allowed us to walk together through hardships (albeit minor) together and continue to see His grace on the other side:)

I think that is very much the right response! When I think on such \"heavenly words\" I'm taken back to a time in TN when some friends and I spent the night up on a mountain--it was cold and the stars were brilliant; as I was lying on my back facing them, some of those phrases were running through my mind in such a way that it really stuck with me.

Brent, thank-you so much for your comments!! It is so very helpful to have someone who is both encouraged by and helpfully critical of the posts I've been doing! One of the things that is a bit nerve racking to me is that I know I could go so much deeper into these verses even though I'm pretty committed to writing/voicing one for each weekday. I'm also trying to spend some time learning at a more seminary level since I didn't go that direction in my college years...so much to always grow in! I would appreciate prayer for wisdom to be given to my family and I as we think about where (profession/career-wise) God might want us to best serve Him in the days to come...and then the courage to act according to His leading. I praise Him for a good job now, but have an unsettled spirit on a regular basis, feeling that He might be calling us to make a shift.
