However, if we do undergo a technologically very feasible EMP attack from a barge or freighter off our shores from the North Koreans or one of the many subsidiaries of the Iranians, the devastation wrought on civilian infrastructure (Quick, think of something that doesn&amp;#039;t have a solid-state device in it nowadays!)  would paralyze ALL transportation and communication.     </description>
