/Film : Movie Review: Adventureland – The Enigma of Kristen Stewart

i have to disagree with this review. i felt that this movie was completely based on character development, and when you have all the characters in an unlikeable resolution, it is hard to see their development. the only true jewels of this movie were martin starr and bill hader and kristen wigg. kristen stewart, i have come to the conclusion, is nothing more than a girl used for a role that is in no way challenging. her acting here can be mirrored in twilight, with no change of feeing, body language or voice control. another problem i had with this movie was ryan reynolds... who i felt was extremely miscast. although he provides some humor, his more serious turn was not for the best. being a fan of reynolds i know that he can provide drama (the nines, smokin' aces) and this did not just allow him to do so. the script i felt was trying to provide a dark and sardonic mood, but most of the humor was either provided by starr, or just flung at you and left out to dry. im not sure if my negative feelings towards this film is due to the fact that i walked in with the expectations of comedy and a coming-of-age story, but i left with the feeling that i had seen character development at its mediocre limit. 4 out of 10

/Film : Bruno Red Band Movie Trailer

my point is based on what sebastian said. compared to the original ali g show, the character of borat is not as funny in the movie. he does many of the same type of things that he did in the movie as the tv show, but the tv show i felt was more original and witty with their things. the only truly funny thing that occured in the movie that wasnt a concept in the show was the wrestling scene.

this is making me quite giddy. wes anderson is superb at creating his own little universes full of unique characters and showcases their development. and to take a children's story and make it his own is quite a testament to his true skill at directing
