Well, I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion (even if it's been given to her by someone else). This woman has been in the business for over 20 years now and I've never heard of her (actually, that's probably not saying much) and like every other performer it seems is an alcoholic drug addict. I wonder if she really understands the positions and the history of the middle east. I suspect that answer is no and more's the pity.

If Crystal would thump both parties equally and not too harshly it would be good for the show. However, I suspect that he'll go after the GOP with a butcher knife and the show will lose a lot more audience. It's not inconceivable that depending on the ratings that next year the networks that aren't carrying the Oscars may actually try to contest the timeslot which could see the Oscars ratings collapse and the show stripped down and moved to a cable channel. I haven't watched the Oscars in decades as I really have better things to do with my time, like play with the dog, read a book or do some laundry.

I wonder who wrote their tweets?

Oprah went to Califonia to start OWN mainly because she saw the writing on the wall for her own afternoon talk show, She was losing viewers at a rapid rate and saw that there was nothing she could do to replace them as America was suffering from Oprah fatigue. She thought she could brand a channel with what was left of her cachet and make it a success. She made some bad choices (Rosie for one) but over a short period investors realized (even as they invested more money) that her name would not bring in new viewers. I suspect their business plan was an immediate, huge uptick in viewers that never and won't happen.
On another note, I wonder what Neilson thinks of her specifically going after their people when that would skew the ratings which is the Neilson bread and butter?

Beautiful, Kevin - you sure know how to relate a personal narrative and convey heartfelt emotions! RIP, Whitney Houston - what a tragic loss of life & talent!

Oh Mike, you little troll you. If you did any research at all instead of listening to the Dems chanting the talking points you'd know that the economy would have been better off if both companies had been allowed to go through bankrupcy instead of Obama and his cronies interfering with the process to benefit their friends (the unions and all those Democrats that were granted dealerships in the same area that Republicans had theirs taken away). In fact, today the budget office just increased the estimate of the loss the government took on 85 Billion bailout by another 270 million bringing the estimated loss to 23.77 billion dollars. By the by, I never said that Eastwood was brainwashed as you seem to want the readers to infer but then the truth has always been a pesky little creature for you folks.

If the NFL had any brains they'd do a 15 minute marching band or whatever and open up the other 15 to commercials. That's why a pile of the people watch anyway and they could add tens of millions of revenue and not have to pay for showbiz talent that is sketchy at best.

I don't think that Eastwood fully understood what happened when Obama bailed out Chrysler and GM. Both companies should have been allowed to enter chapter 11 instead the boards bowed under pressure and Obama was able to deliver Chrysler into the hands of it's enemies, the UAW and was able to threaten and blackmail the GM bondholders into accepting pennies on their investments. The argument about saving hundreds of thousands of jobs was a straight out lie and the only ones to come out ahead on the deal were the Unions and Obamas re-election fund.
Hell, maybe Eastwood is just cashing the check, a lot of other stars have done that before.

I wonder whether she's running to try to forestall a green party run from someone who would actually take a sizeable amount of votes from Obama. I mean as odious and ignorant as she is, she must know that she can only damage the Green Party brand by her actions which as the good little lefty that she is, is somewhat surprising. Personally I think that everyone should get behind Ralph Nader to encourage him for another run.

Haven't seen either movie but will make the following comment. Allen's film's don't get the automatic box office they used to. There is far more varied fair out there for the consumer to drop his money on and Allen is making a large mistake when he decides to take a few (just a few mind you) cheap and somewhat vicious shots at conservatives in general and the Tea Party in particular. Dialog like that won't get any more liberals buying tickets but will lose coservatives who are tired of being slagged. Allen could get his point across without resorting to over the top cracks but chooses not to. Hell, maybe he's just getting bored now that his wife has grown up and goes for the easy shots. In any event, this type of scripting can only cost him money in the long run.
