If I jb my iPhone 4 (4.3.5) w/ redsn0w, do I have to restore all my apps and settings or does it just apply the tethered jailbreak in place? i lost my 4.3.3 jb cause my iPhone home button died and had to get a replacement from apple but this non-jbroken phone is making me nutty so i'd rather have tethered than nothing at all.

I'm having a weird issue. I have the 4.3.3 IPSW downloaded. I am running TinyUmbrella and the TSS server. I am trying to restore to 4.3.3 and after I option-restore and choose the IPSW file, it goes through about a 2min process and then comes back with the error "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1). Any ideas?

Hi. I need to restore my iPhone - to restore to 4.3.3 (i have my SSH blogs saved, etc...) do I just option-click restore from iTunes from the 4.3.3 ISPW on my HD - and then re-jailbreak it? (I don't care about unlock...)

Thanks slava... I may end up just doing that since the unlock isn't that important to me. Thanks all!

Yeah, I don't really care that much about the unlock any more. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that... but it's good to know that this is just cosmetic... though I travel a lot throughout the US so although just cosmetic, I would like to know what my signal strength is. It is weird that it works some times fine with Ultrasn0w installed and then all of a sudden just stops working.

but then w/out ultrasnow, i only have the one-bar issue and it's not unlocked. wouldn't updating the baseband fix this?

I'm having an odd issue that's been plaguing me for months. I have an iPhone 4 Jailbroken and unlocked. 4.3.3 and 01.59.00 firmware. Here's the problem: randomly i am no longer able to retrieve voicemails or send mms (pictures) messages. The only way I've found to fix this is to re-install ultrasnow and the reboot. Sometimes I have to do this a couple of times and then it works. It's pretty frustrating and while I don't want to lose my unlock, it's not that important to me and I'm tempted just to to a fresh restore to 4.3.3 and the JB again. Anyone else see this behavior or know a fix? Thanks!

Hi, Sorry for the noob question. I read the iclarified tutorials and just want to make sure I am doing the right one. I have a JB iPhone 4 w/ 4.2.1 and 01.59.00. I would like to upgrade the firmware and not the baseband. Does the tutorial on iClarified work for phones that are previously jb'en already? thanks!

Hi. I have an AT&T w/ Software 4.2.1 and Baseband 01.59.00... I want to update to the latest version of the firmware (4.3.3) obviously without updating my baseband. I just want to confirm that this method on iClarified: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=14572 is the correct steps I should be taking to preserve my baseband - or is there a simpler step since my phone is already jailbroken? Thanks!

Ahh. Ok, I thought I may have had something a bit backwards so I'm glad I asked as well. :-) I've used pwnage tool b4 (and have a mac) so I'll re-read the tutorials but at this point, I think I'll wait on 4.3.1 regardless as you and most people have said, it's not worth the upgrade. I was a little confused on the tutorials as it seemed to be for people who either have 4.2.1 or 4.3.1 but I couldn't find a tutorial and how to upgrade to 4.3.1 specifically... just how to JB it. Thanks!
