Komo4, you really ought to think about correcting this erroneous report. I am sure Allena shared with you the size of the SPCC membership base. If you think we are a small number of people on the fringes of the sexual minority, think again. If you think we aren't successful business people, students, doctors, lawyers, etc, then think again. This is a gross misrepresentation of facts, and you can expect backlash.
Incidentally, I find it funny that going out to a meat market in bell town is acceptable behavior but going somewhere that provides frank, honest, adult classes and opportunities for interaction (without alcohol! imagine that!) is worthy of such harsh criticism. We must truly be a sex *negative* society. I expect more from Seattle...
(Incidentally, before someone responds with that the article is about tax exempt status and not whether the SPCC deserves to exist, let me remind you that this issue has already been addressed and it is VERY CLEAR that Allena and the board are operating within current tax laws. You may not agree with the mission of every 501(3)(c) that gets tax exempt status, but if they operate within the law, then no wrong-doing is done. I don't think the Mormon church should be able to operate part of its operations as a nonprofit and use that financial base to ban gay marriage, but if they are following the law then I don't get to make that decision, and neither do you.)
