You can't pretentiously hide location names and detest yuppies after dropping a mainstream "I just got my first analyst job on Wall St." bar like Alligator Lounge. Such a Poseur. This does not take away from the greatness of a personal pizza every time you order a beer; it is undeniable.

Enough Cowbell : Homework

awesome stuff! But everyone knows that "secrets" is the strongest currency on the planet. I would gladly accept payment in "secrets" for anything. If knowledge is power and power = money and we agree that "secrets" contain some degree of knowledge then I would argue that secrets are a potent type of knowledge because secrets are knowledge with given level of scarcity in the marketplace. Economics 101 tells you that scarcity is the crux of all worth in the marketplace - the more rare something is, the more valuable. That being said, secrets can be deduced and described as "rare knowledge" which is inherently more valuable than all (or most) other knowledge.

I think it's a subtle allusion to Michael Jackson. The video was filled with children (which we know he loves) executing MJ influenced dance moves (moonwalks, crotch grabs etc.).

I feel as if I missed some good goofs and chat in celebration of america. Urbanism: I would argue that cities can only be fully experienced via analog transportations (read: bicycle, feet, rollerblades, skateboard). Cities should also be experienced in all 24 hours; a normal distribution (bell curve) across those hours is reasonable as most hours are not very interesting, i'll put the mean at 9pm - you should experience this hour the most. Raise your experience to the level of the power of "f" where f=# of friends. E^f Illyn's Diary: C'mon, seriously, just one page Blinders: Kanye West=lame/voice of a generation. Gay Fish.

Enough Cowbell : Sans Terre: How to Write Music Journalism

This post is actually a great example of the most significant part of music journalism that differentiates itself from other journalism. Music journalism, much like this blog post, is overly self-aware that it is in fact MUSIC JOURNALISM. It's kinda like in Wayne's World when Wayne & Garth talk to the camera. There is also the type of music journalism that Aaron writes which is diametrically opposed to the above; it is completely oblivious to the fact that it is music journalism. (note: it is debatable whether or not this should be considered journalism). See this to see what I mean http://enoughcowbell.com/2009/06/30/my-friend-pet...

I'll have to submit my own list of ruined music, some of which I may or may not listen to anyway just because I'm totally over it. The years from this period of my life are blatantly obvious. - Sigur Ros - Decembrists (aaron see's nothing wrong with this) - Postal Service - Select Mountain Goats (although not really) everyone post urs!
