I nursed Colin for about 4 weeks, too, and carried my guilt around for a while after we switched to formula. There is nothing wrong with formula, of course, but it isn't what I wanted and I felt like I let myself and my baby down. This time I'd like to give Reid one year of breast milk, that's the goal, but if we don't make it that far I won't beat myself up about it.

Thanks for your input! I will definitely expand more on the pumping at work thing.

I am so happy to hear this! It's challenging in a lot of ways, but there are so many benefits if you are able to breastfeed. It is so important to have a good support system when you plan to nurse, especially if you had difficulties the first time (speaking from experience here). Good luck to you!!

It is definitely not easy, but so far it has been worth it. And hey, it's a lot cheaper than formula! :) You keep up the good work, too!

Sarah, good question! Reid gets sleepy pretty easily on the breast and prefers to eat often and for relatively small amounts of time. For the sake of getting out the door on time during the week, we feed pumped milk in a bottle. As he gets older and nurses more efficiently, I may nurse him more in the mornings. He currently nurses on weekends, evenings, and at night.
