I enjoyed this ep for many of the same reasons but had 2 questions: 1- did anyone else think of the old John Carpenter movie The Thing when they did the electricution bit to figure out who was possessed? 2- I though Dean kept talking about herpes, not harpies...either way, his reaction was funny...

1- I've never seen the BBC version so I'm not prejudiced/sullied (?) by that take, which can be good or bad... I went into "The Office" witthe same way then went back and was able to enjoy both version independantly (I can't do teh same with books though, I must read before watching...) And i love this show so far...yipee! 2- I also hate SyFy (I love See Fee Dawn lol) 3 - I don't hate Aidan's face, but I would pick Josh over Aidan anyday of the week, and twice on Sunday (never been able to use that phrase before)...__And Jenn, thank you for pointing out the Gap Tooth Felicia Day comparison, it was wracking my brain as to who she looked like, though I would have said "hit by a frying pan Felicia Day"

I wasone of those kids that saw it as it happened...I rememebr being in a daze that day since my family had taken a monthlong trip to Chile and had come back to school that week and I was having a hard time catching up, so it resonated with me on so many levels....I agree that I don't know why that stopped all space exploration (or seems to have)...I thought by now some of us would have been living on the moon, or Mars...

Pink Raygun.com : More Than the Mask: A Closer Look at The Cape (Part One)

excellant points, i never understood why shows feel the need to show their whole hand when they have the advantage of episodes and arcs over a movie 2-3 hours running time. I tend to be forgiving of shows sometimes in the first couple of episodes (my personal experience is that the shaky ones hit their stride by episode 6, or completely fall apart). And I love superheroes, and Summer Glau, and Keith David so I'm hoping for better...

Pink Raygun.com : The Walking Dead: Guts

I also haven't read the books, but I know what you men, it was like when I saw tThe Stand miniseries and I knew who was going to die and I kept holding my breathe for it, it makes it a totally crazy viewing experience. I also have that same moral dilemma, Lisa; I want to believe I would have struggled with the decision like T-Dog (when Fate or Justice intervened) but there is a callous survivalist part of myself that thinks I'd let him rot (figuratively, literally). I am also fascinated by the zombies, who are almost character developed (I mean, I still don't wanna sit and have tea with them...) but the curious dog-head tilt thing they were doing as the guys walked among them? amazing.... I'm also liking that it looks like the reunion of the Grimes is upon us, and isn't gonna drag for years (or even weeks)

Pink Raygun.com : Sex and the Single Geek Girl: Half a Geek Couple?

I agree Teresa, having once been half of a geek couple, and not now, because it wasn't about my being accused of like X or getting into Y because of him, but the constant intense debate over whose geek obsessions were more "valid" (ie better) I will probably never watch BSG because of the disdain my ex had for Buffy. And even though my current boyfriend doesn't understand why I dress up like a Hogwarts student or (fill in random geeky thing I do) he does love that I am passionate about it and doesn't stop me from it. THAT is what you really want to find...someone who allows you and loves you for you :)

I actually wasn't surprised on Lucifer's tears...I think that's what I like about this depiction, that Lucifer might have been in some ways a petulant child, but really, he has more feelings that just hate and revenge, those negative feelings just run deeper for him...

I also generally agree about the episode (and especially looking forward to more Matt Frewer, while mourning Richard Spieght Jr), the one borrow that I did love was Dean announcing "Alright you primative screwheads, listen up." If anyone can remotely deliver that line with the similar snide of Bruce Campbell's Ash, well, Jensen had to be given his just props.

Pink Raygun.com : Why The Avatar DVD Sucks

I'd heard so much about the mediocre story that I never mustered up the time to go to the 3D Imax showing of Avatar, or ANY showing for that matter. So I know that in a few years when they show this mediocre film on NBC, I'll watch it then and be grateful I didn't get a headache from the 3D glasses...

Pink Raygun.com : Why Hit-Girl is a Role Model: A Review of Kick-Ass

I'm with Teresa on this one, parody or not (and aren't all superhero films on some level a parody of the hero idea?) the point is about a female character transcending her gender in a role that is being villified because she's a girl instead of looking past the fact she's a girl....it still bothers me that there aren't enough strong female role models, and Hit Girl defintiely is one of the few for me now.

I like the idea of the Show coming back because I'd like to see the aftermath. I like the idea of seeing what happens after something big happens...its like in movies, there's big fanfare and bang and boom and everything is tidied up in the end, but what comes after? I remember reading a review for the last True Blood season finale where they were bummed Eggs got killed and they'd hoped to see his character develop from the guilt of all the killing hehad done, even if he had been controlled to do it... but how do you continue to live after you suvive the end of the world? What happens when it's quiet? So I'm pretty psyched. I also got into the show late (season 3 or 4, I don't remember) so I've been playing catch-up and I'm grateful for just being able to be a part of it still. Maybe because I came in later I'm more forgiving, even in looking back, I just like the idea that there is always going to be something to say as long as the world exists.
