What happens when we install custom firmware (aka. jailbroken firmware) created by Pwnage tool, etc? The custom firmware created by Pwnage preserves baseband. Can we preserve current baseband even with checking 'UPDATE BASEBAND'?

--- iOS 4.3.3 SHSH are not saved for some devices ---
I have run Tiny Umbrella 4.33.00, 4.33.02, and 5.00.00. I could save iOS4.3.3 SHSH for iPhone4 (iOS4.3.2) and iPhone 3GS (iOS 3.1.2) which are jailbroken. However, for unjailbroken iPhone4 (iOS4.0) and iPod Shuffle G4 (iOS4.1), I can not save iOS4.3.3 SHSH regardless of the devices connection with USB. Looking at the log, the SHSHs seems to be cached.
At the first time, I could save iOS 4.3.2 (previous) SHSH even for the failed ones.
The device names of the failed ones contain garbling letters due to Japanese fonts or a special character such as apostrophe. I have corrected the device names with iTunes and connected them to TinyUmbrella. Their names still remain unchanged.
Are the device name stored in Cydia? Is this the reason of the failure?

How to use verbose boot on Pwnage jailbroken iOS4.3.2?

I could jailbreak iOS4.3.2 for iPhone4. It is untethered and stable. awesome!
I failed the jailbreak with redn0w 0.9.6rc14 on mac OS-X, but I really loves verbose
boot which shows detailed boot logs on the iPhone display.
In Cydia, I found "verbose boot for iPhone4" application for iOS4 but it does not work for
Pwnage jailbreak. Just ordinal apple logo is shown even when I choose verbose in
boot logo selection of the setting menu.
Is there any way to activate verbose boot on Pwnaged iOS4.3.2?

Keep pushing HOME and SLEEP button together. iPhone should get reboot if the iOS was not intact.

I have saved SHSH of iPhone4/iPhone3GS/iPod Shuffle.
I wanted to rename the device name displayed by tinyumbrella to avoid
confusion. I changed them with iTunes, but the changes are not seen in
tinyumbrella.
Tinyumbrella seems to access Cydia to find saved SHSH. It seems that
the device names are associated the saved data in Cydia???
How can I change the device name displayed in tinyumbrella.

I just want to confirm.I just want to confirm.
Can we use the SHSH saved by any version of tinyunbrella for any platform?
Particularly I want to know whether the SHSH in ~/.shsh saved on Mac OS X can be
used on windows.

I tried to jailbreak WCDMA(AT&T) iPhone4. The environment is below:
1. iOS4.3.1
2. iTunes 10.2.1
3. Pwnage 4.3
However, since Apple has released iOS4.3.2, restoring custom firmware failed with
the message that the device isn't eligible for the reuested build.
The recovery was failed with DFU or normal recovery.
Since it is my first Jailbreak for the device, no SHSH is saved.
Is there any way to skip the firmware check by apple? For example, applying patch to iTunes, etc...

What about this?
1. run Pwnage 3.1.5 to make CFW and jailbreak iTune.
2. start iTune, option+recover, select official 3.1.2 firmware instead of CFW.
I guess you can recover to the official 3.1.2 because the ipsw is officially signed.
3. run blackra1n for tethered jailbreak.

I also experienced infinit reboot loop three times (always) after reseting network setting since my iPhone could not connect to WiFi. Enabling boot log desplay with Redsn0w, I saw 3G and WiFi reset corrupts boot sequence. I think this is a bug of blacksn0w. So I decided not to install blacksn0w, so far no WiFi problem has occured. I posted GeoHots blog to fix it.

I have never seen any error of iTune for the recovery to CFW. I was using iTune 9.0.2.(25) on Mac OX 10.6.
Since your iPhone is later than 40 week , your iPhone is with new boot iBoot-359.3.2 without 24kpwn?
(you can check it with Mac system profiler while DFU mode iPhone is connected to USB.)
If it is the case, why don't you recover to official 3.1.3 firmware instead of CFW with iTune (I am not sure whether it should work.... ), then try tethered jailbreak with blackra1n.
