I dont feal I am being negative I just want to know all the facts. People mite have bad things to say but I just want to know what I am in for (I have never entered a sweepstakes. )I am glad someone did let me know this, call me stupid but I did not know you get taxed as earned income. i have to be ready for what ever comes my way. Like i said before where their is a will their is a way. I will try to keep the home if I can. If not I would still come out ahead I am a dreamer and sometimes I get cought up in all the hipe just like others Im sure.

The home has everything food and all. From what I have read pots and pans you would only have to figure out how to pay for the taxes the Irs is going to tax you. I want to keep the house but everyone said I will not be able to do it because of the taxes. I was told they tax you as earned income 36% on the homes value. Then on the cash prize. Did you hear this?

Well it wont be long before we find out who the winner is I am ready for all that may come. I dont care what I can afford i am going to live in the home for at least 2 weeks just so I could say It was mine. Taxes, good old taxes I think that will be a small bridge to cross. If I had to sell the home to pay for the taxes then I would but dont think I would not enjoy the home as long as I could. Their has to be some good that can come out of this.

Thank you I have read the post . It does let me know what road I would be on. Good thing my best friend has a law firm to help out with the legal issues. I would live in the home for a time until i would have to make any changes. (like selling) Why do they set up the dream? I think I still want this dream. I want something to belive in, and not be let down. The IRS should have a sweepstake tax less than 36% How about 10% Thats better! Well I will keep dreaming Its late for me so ill go to bed and dream I won the money and the house Tax free!!!

I wish someone would give a clear answer to the amount you would be left with. i did not think they would tax you as income you earned. How can that be? What about a gift tax?

Lessie i am well aware of the taxes i would have to pay. I talked to my husband he asked what i would do sell or keep the home. I told him I would live in the home and see if i could make it my home the five hundred thousand would help pay part of those taxes for a while. The problem most will have would be to pay the taxes If i told you what my husband and i have been threw you would not belive or understand so any change in my life could only help. I would make the right choice I would talk to tax professional to find out what could be done. Thats alot of money to work with, plus the home.
