WA wasn't taxing water---only bottled water. Fill your own bottles with tap water instead of buying more plastic bottles which contribute hugely to environmental pollution and the water in a store-bought bottle of water is merely tap water. And as far as candy and soda pop goes---The US is one of the unhealthiest nations in the world in regards to preventable disease and obesity. Why not tax part of the problem----the junk food with which Americans gorge themselves can help pay for part of the fix---health care. A great way to curb appetites into eating more nutritious foods is to make the junk more expensive than the healthy foods. Currently it's the opposite nationwide and now WA is again returning to the status quo of cheap junk food.

Yes---the green turtles are abundant in most tropical waters, including Pacific---I realized the follie of my comment after I posted, and didn't mean it that way. They don't only belong in the Caribbean, but in warmer climes, and my comment sounded Caribe-centric. Sorry for that, not intended. Interesting comment by you, Dirtman. Certainly different survival mechanisms at work here from our own warm-blooded ones, but one wonders how this poor turtle got so far off-course. Haywire? Perhaps. A Turtle hunting operation as mentioned below? Perhaps. Climate change issues or habitat destruction---likely. Perhaps it was desperately looking for food. Wildlife has ended up in all sorts of non-adaptive places while hunting for food which is at times becoming scarcer and scarcer.

I"m from the Caribbean---that's where they belong. This poor thing is FAR off course. Hope others aren't following. Glad someone found it before it was too late. Good luck to the Green turtle.

If it were your child, you probably wouldn't be so tired of hearing about this case. Kyron's case, if nothing else, is bringing to light other missing child cases, so let's keep on this, and on the others. Any missing child is a tragedy which should not be forgotten or filed under "cold case". If you're tired of hearing about this child, don't listen, and don't read about him. That's your right.

It continues to absolutely confound me how the possible perpetrator in Kyron's disappearance can stand by and observe how the search for him actively continues, alone these past weekends at Sauvie Island with scores of volunteers' time and efforts, while knowing full well where that little boy is or what happened to him and still NOT COP TO IT. That is the lowest and basest, most sinister and narcissistic act I can imagine, after what was done to him. You know who you are: Rise above yourself and provide Kyron's pained parents and society the closure that they and we all seek.

Wow, twoeyes---insightful to a "t" on little boys at this age! Good one. Very thoughtful. I"m just now learning....My first grader's going through EXACTLY that. You must have boys or know them WELL. And relating this to Kyron makes my skin crawl that something happened to him as he was navigating this very tough time in a delicate little boy's life. Breaks my heart that Kyron's case is yet to be resolved and that he may have been irreversibly punished for being "difficult".

kbs48, then don't buy anything made abroad, no matter how cheap or what a bargain.....if Americans could/would work for less and pay higher prices, more products would be manufactured here.

Finally a true Christian who does not pick and choose which of God's creatures should be respected according to the tastes or conveniences of humans. I know I'll get many TD's for this comment, but really, there's some truth spoken here and one doesn't have to agree with NiK7's sentiments to at least appreciate the lack of hypocrisy in the content. And I certainly agree that the most invasive species is NOT a stink bug.....how did the stink bug get over here in the first place? Shipping.....cargo.....plane.....human factor.
