PD books are the WORST crack of ALL! :-) :-) :-) Our library now (amazingly) will deliver ones that are on audio to you via your computer, in MP3 format - they're just starting it, but it's GREAT. I'm catching up on "old" PD books (Richest Man in Babylon-esque) that way. That doesn't mean, of course, that I just didn't order like 5 new books last night at a crack-book-induced moment. My poor husband :-)

our "trick" was to go thru each other's books first, and see where we were doing the "I want people to know I like Shakespeare" thing (per your podcast). That sucked (laugh!). Then we picked books for downstairs that really LOOK nice. So no paperbacks, etc. We even went thru cookbooks (my aunt was Julia Child's best friend and cooked with her at Cordon Rouge, etc and I inherited a BOATLOAD of cookbooks, etc.) and we decided which ones really Looked Good and which we were willing to give away, since we often go to epicurious.com etc. to get recipes anyway. Then, upstairs, I got my whole-wall bookshelf, and my stuff had to fit. My husband got his bookshelf in his workshop. Just don't tell I have magazines under the guest bed...and oh MAN all those crack half.com purchases that I keep balancing on the other books in the bookshelf....bad so bad.... :-)

no worries - I was a little lucky in that I just decided to pitch anything my now-husband hated - but we were 2 40ish-year-olds who had been single and had 2 houses - holy cats. Had to really laugh about your comment on books - ohhhh boooooy. That was the biggest one. My husband built me a full-wall bookshelf, and said "Zat's eet for you" (he's Austrian)...and of course I filled it and had boxes and boxes left over. But slowly ever slowly, I got thru it -- books went to hospice, also a friend works teaching kids in juvie getting their GEDs, we have San Quentin right here -- lots and LOTS of folks who are super appreciative of books. But -- BOOKS!!!!!!!!!! :-) :-) :-)

I'm interviewing Erin tomorrow, and I have really enjoyed your podcasts. I've done a few podcasts on uncluttering, etc. but I"m going to have her "tackle" the whole marriage/living together thang!

Putting Precision Change into my feedreader -- thanks! Love your interviewing and I'm sure your other podcasts are faboo!
