My take, after atttending the seminar, is that facebook is not a legal document and as an employer, you walk a slippery slope when firing someone for something they post on facebook. That said, I would expect that this employer will probably lose any sort of wrongful termination claims....that's my take anyway. Outside of that, I can't stand that people are using facebook to throw up all their issues. Sure, it's their right but it's silly and solves nothing. I hope she has a claim against this company and wins. Personally, it was a lot more convenient when you rolled around with a cup holder of change and fed the meter for as long as you needed. Now we have corrupt czars, 4 different types of machines around town, and you pay MORE.....flat out, you pay more. Your 25 cents used to get you 15 - 20 minutes, now it gets 12 or 13. Oregon instituted a stewardship program last year that was a partnership started by INDUSTRY and OTHERS. In other words, it wasn't shoved up our a**'s by lobbyists and politicians. It was businesses doing the right thing. This stewardship program, called paintcare.org makes it so easy for contractors to recycle materials that would otherwise be burned in an incinerator (legally) for a fraction of the cost.
