WMPoweruser.com : I am not upgrading to Windows Phone 7. Well… not yet

If I wanted an Android device, I would have clearly came out and said so, something I would never do because like I wrote, I think the the Andoid UX is crap. I never advocated for the Blackjack. I just said I was holding on to it a little longer until the WP7 mango update materilazed and the next refresh of devices appeared. I don't six months is not too long of a wait for me. When it comes to navigation, I would like to have the native Bing turn by turn navigation like the one found on Windows mobille 6.5 which is pretty good.

I really don't care that much about Windows mobile 6, and I would not wish it on anybody especially and average users who I always recommend to get WP7 devices. The Blackjack just buys me time until I get the WP7 update and device of my dreams (or as close as possible).

@theteerex Although I don't have a device, I have played with a friend's for a good period of time and watched enough videos of the OS to have a pretty good picture of how the OS works. That is how I came up with the concept drawings because I DO know how the OS works.

@Keith Like you said, the UI is innovative and nothing beats Xbox live. But I'm a big believer in delayed gratification, and I want a device with larger storage without being worried whether or not the SD cards will work, a HTML 5 capable browser that takes advatage of all the new capabilities of BIng and compatible websites, custom ringtones and such.

Those are all valid points. But, I have lived without them up to this point and I believe I can wait a few more months to have those features you mentioned together with the ones planned to be available in the fall that I care for more.

Pretty good comments for and against. What I'm amazed is people making comments claiming bashing the OS when I clearly said that I'm just delaying getting a device until the things I deem important to me make it to the OS. A lot of people are content with the OS as is. I'm not. what is so bad about that? The Samsung BlackJack I have has no modifications. I don't care about skins or tinkering with custom ROMS. I don't love it but it does most of the stuff I want it to albeit not well all the time. The reason I'm keeping it a little longer is akin to saving money to get what I really want (A WP7 device with the Mango update) and bigger storage, instead of settling for something right now that I don't necessarily like but will make do. Are we at a point where we cannot talk about the shortcomings of the OS? I've written articles and come up with concepts that quite a few people like on what they would like to see in the OS. Why would I be spending all that time if I hated the OS that much? I love WP7 but the little things that I would love to see are not present and I'm lucky enough to have to have the chance wait out until it is upgraded to my liking. That doesn't stop me from advocating it to friends and family who need the phone right now and I know their use case scenarios would be fulfilled by a WP7 device.

WMPoweruser.com : Concept: Windows Phone 7 contact page with a dash of history and presence

The history tab does list all those items chronologically because once you tap on a particular item say calls, it takes you to the call history with that person showing calls from and to the person including missed calls. I Kept the What;s new tab for longer form notifications status from Facebook,, Windows Live, Photo sharing sites like Flickr. Basically stuff that you can comment on.

This would just be another way to check your history with a contact especially if you haven't talked to them in a while. instead of having to go to say the email inbox and search when the last time you emailed John smith , or when the last text your received from him. swiping to history saves you the time of having to dive into all those applications in one place.

When you go to the people hub and tap on a persons profile, this would be the page that would appear starting with the profile tab. You are right the IM is based on linking chat with WLM

Those are pretty cool! The copyright was just for some blogs who usually use our original content but don't attribute it back to the original post. Your design follows more of the People Hub font sizes while I tried to go more with the Cocktail flow app design using smaller sized font but making them bold.

Kind of like the Kin when you swiped the contact card, you directly went onto their Facebook wall, then Myspace e.t.c That sounds like a great idea. I think the messaging page like Charlie said in the comments below would not only include SMS, but also IM, Facebook, Xbox live and Zune notifications

WMPoweruser.com : Concept: Windows Phone 7 Email Hub

I think the concept tries to do both. You could have the option of pinning the individual tiles to the start screen. The first section of the email hub lists all the individual accounts and from there a person can dive directly into each account. For the people who like a unified inbox, swipe once to the right and all the emails from the different accounts are listed in chronological order.

WMPoweruser.com : Concept: Windows Phone 7 Email Hub

The Inbox just lists all the accounts with the newest email header. From there it is easier to jump quickly jump into any account. The "Whats new" section is basically the unified inbox because all the emails from different accounts are listed in the order they come in. The color on contact header lets the user know which account the email is from. Just like the main OS, this sections are scrollable up and down.

WMPoweruser.com : Windows Phone 7 is slowly marching upwards

You are so right about the storage. That is one area that I wish Microsoft had set the bar higher by setting the minimum to at least 16GB. They should also have asked OEMs to have devices with 32 and 64GB versions since it doesn't look like the expandable storage option is going to pan out. I do hope they address the delinking of contacts and not sit on it like the did with the Yahoo mail data fiasco.

WMPoweruser.com : Dreaming of a Kinect HD controller

My thoughts for the HD Kinect are for commercial purposes not for the average person who would prefer a more smaller unit at a low price. The current version would be the flagship device that will be also used by enthusiasts. The HD version would be for developers who have a little more money and would like to get better results especially in 3D motion capture and animation that can only be obtained by a higher spec'd Kinect.

WMPoweruser.com : Here comes “Nokia Ovi Microsoft Bing Live Music Entertainment System 2012”

There is nothing hateful about the post. As you can see, most commenters and I would like Microsoft to keep the Zune brand because we think its worth it. The prospects of another rebrand for the music and video services is what is troubling for us and we are just having a civil discussion about it.
