I think that might lead him to something "christ-like", but I doubt he'd agree with the vast majority of the bible. Or the teachings of the established church, for that matter.

If a child was born and grew up isolated from all human contact, I don't think he would end up a Christian.

Sorry. Saying homosexuality is a choice is like saying your height is a choice, or that being left handed is a choice. Whether you like it or not, some people are gay, and that doesn't make them any less of a person.

Big Government : The 2nd Amendment: A Concealed Carry Permit

Well, according the research I've found, Gun deaths peaked in 1993-94ish, and rapidly declined after. Mandatory gun training for everyone isn't the answer I don't think... just those that WANT it. Those who intend to buy should be held to some sort of standard. http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/homicide/tables/...

Big Hollywood : Top 10 Ways Hollywood Can Win Its Audience Back

Hollywood chooses to pander instead of to challenge. I'm not saying every film needs to be revolution inciting, but allowing and even ENDORSING formula films for the sake of cash is hilariously disrespectful to American ideals. Also, in regard to an earlier comment, Liam Neeson could read a Maddow transcript and make it sound worth while.

Big Hollywood : A Student's-Eye View of Center Stage Liberalism

The firs one is just ridiculous and tacky, but having Obama brutally stabbed at the urging of Hilary Clinton doesn't really seem like liberal propaganda. I agree (re: Caliban) that we could do with some more colorblind casting and stop with the cliche race points. Taming is a weird beast though, because MOST times I've seen it done, it's come off as incredibly sexist. I'm not sure putting all men is the solution, but it IS a story about a powerful man making an obedient woman. We've been running that show for about a year, and we just turned it into a slapstick farce with hand made sound effects, and, by taking nothing about the play seriously, we get away from all that.

I knew about the historical context. The point is that the play doesn't live within it. Plenty of people can relate to and enjoy The Crucible in a non-political way.

Big Government : Classy: OccupyCharlotte Protesters Burn American Flags

I haven't taken an environmental science class since highschool (where global warming was theorized about in maybe one class) but I was in a history class or two in college, and they seemed pretty revisionist to me. It certainly didn't say that "the evil Americans came in a wiped out a peaceful people who were just minding their own business so vote Democrat", nor did it paint America as an instant paradise, and all early Americans as paragons who didn't make any mistakes. It showed plenty of dubious AND noble behavior from both sides. Most importantly though, students were encouraged to think before talking. I like that sort of thing.
