you're talking about a great basestealer with one out. i agree not to push it if it's 0 out or even 2 out, but with 1 out play aggressive ball. why play so defensively? like i said, this team has been struggling getting the hits, put pressure on the defense.

i'm with you. i just wonder why not send beltran before it gets to 3-2 on santos?? i mean, santos took the first FIVE pitches in that ab. plenty of time to run. they gotta push the envelope more. especially when they're not hitting like this. i see reyes, beltran and wright sitting at bases far too much. it'd be understandable if the offense wasn't atrocious at getting runners in once they're on.

holy smoke. this is exhausting. i know it was silly! such was my intent, and i thought that was allowed. i understand now that it is not. didn't know it was like a composition class. won't happen again. just fact-supported simple statements: dwright needs to drive in more runs.

thank you. i see you understand the focus of my complaint has little to do with walks, and more to do with the lack of run production. nym712, figure out the sarcasm or leave the editorializing out.

how is it possible that reyes in on base 5 times in the last two days (once with a triple!) and not score a single run???!! could someone please tell dwright that he hits in the middle of the lineup, not to walk, but to drive in runs. we all appreciate all 4 rbi he has this season, but when he has almost 4x as many strikeouts, it's a little left to be desired. pick it up!

same this year. go back and look at nomar's numbers the years prior his trade from the red sox. very similar to dwrights (>.300, >20hr, >100 rbi in both years). they got nowhere near that production in his "replacement". you know what happened. i know we couldn't get a player near his output, and as i said i'd hate to see him go, but something has to change here! we're watching the same crap the last 2.5 years now!

why wright? he is skilled and talented and i'd hate to see him go (much like red sox fans hated to see nomar traded), but he's not a winner. the ab against chi late in the year against the AAAA pitcher defined him for me. a couple weeks later in game 162, ryan braun faced the same pitcher in a very similar situation and he hit a hr. his team went to the playoffs thanks to that performance.

dead on! none of these marquee guys shoulder anymore than is necessary. wright just loves to talk to the press and say the "right" things about tipping his cap to the other team, etc.... i'm so sick of it! they're all gutless and show no pride! pathetic! the only winner is santana.

stay in it?? it's 9 games in and the mets are already 4 gb and in 4th place! i don't see any winning attitude from this team. it looks all too familiar. talent they have in bundles, but they can't win. bottom line.
