You should care, unless you want everyone to remember you that way.. I wouldn't. It can't hurt to have some common decency towards your fellow man, we have enough jerks on this planet. Intelligence doesn't carry the prerequisite of that kind of attitude. If it was unintentional it was difficult to sense in text.

In any case, I'm sure that you are correct, and it wouldn't be the first time the media has blown something out of proportion or got something wrong, especially when it comes to math or science. To be honest I hardly ever watch or read the news, bar this site.

no i get that. but you don't start off a conversation with someone by insulting their intelligence, when you have no idea who i am or what i know. you might understand math and physics, but you have no social etiquette.
