I was wrong. An anniversary marks the year that something was created, so this was the 100th. But if the race had run every year, which didn't happen, this would have been 101st running.

#1 I knew a guy that actually did this. His rental car was partially submerged and rather than pay the damages, he scrubbed it down. He took the seats out to dry for a few days in the sun and drove with lawn chairs rocking him and his passenger back and forth with every stop and start. When he turned it in it passed the once over just fine.
