Do you think Vitamin Water has lost its sheen after they made a similar move ??

The trick in my opinion is maintaining the uniqueness and 'separateness' of the two brands.

Nice rant. For disabling alt-tab, I have tried discipline or for excess use, pressing ctrl-esc, u and u again. Sometimes it works :-)

I think the potential applications are huge....the Piano teacher app was brilliant. I was also thinking of Architect's using this to demonstrate master plans and layouts....I think its a strategy in the right direction and opening it out to 3rd party application developers is vital.

I think a large part of this is due to the possibly increasing 'irritation' people feel when one company seems to dominate all that we do - ubiquitous as Google is on the internet. That sets off people searching for what will bring this giant down / make more choices available...

I agree there is a thin dividing line. Equally, it shouldn't be difficult for Visual CV to replicate LinkedIn's networking feature. What if they partner ?
