Is there a way that the public can help the family replace some of the damaged items?

An apology would be an answer as that would be an admission that they messed up and that they need to get on the ball.

It is no worse than Branson, by far. Ever been to a timeshare presentation? If you want to talk about morals, take a good look at the areas around you and you'll quickly see that there is no room to talk.
In Branson, you can't go anywhere in town without an 'OPC' asking you where you are from. So, any tourist town you go to anywhere in the world is going to want your money... that is the way business works.

I second that! I find it humorous that so many on here feel the need to judge others... and even quote the bible at the same time. Doesn't it also state not to judge others lest ye be judged?
What difference does it make what their lifestyle is anyway? If I like a painting then I'll buy it and I don't care if the person is gay, straight, or an alien for that matter. I respect art for what it is. How many of you listen to Elton John, Queen, Melissa Etheridge, etc? If the artist is homosexual, does that stop you from buying their CD? Are you afraid that you're going to 'catch' it? lol, come on people.
If they are not doing anything to hurt anyone, then what is the big deal? If there is nothing there that interests you... fine, don't go back. If there is nothing there for your kids... fine, don't go back. But to blame it on lifestyle differences, well, that's just a bunch of cr*p. Get down from the pulpit.

I am a mom of a 9 year old also goes to Branson Elementary and I'm certainly glad that I have not had this experience... because if I did, I would demand an apology as well. The fact remains that the child had a concussion. We have heard it before that a hard enough hit on the head can have very unfortunate consequences (i.e. Natasha Richardson), and it is certainly not something to take lightly. What if he had no symptoms at all and, while going to be, never wake up the next morning. It has happened.
Itsbadnews, shame on you for stating that it seems like the child is lying and I really hope that you do not babysit children.
This parent should have been notified about her child's injury and she is completely in the right. Schools need to be more educated about the potential dangers of head injuries.

My heart goes out to Juanita. Watching the video clip was heartbreaking and, as a mother myself, I see that she has suffered the worst thing that anyone could ever experience... the loss of a child. At least she is finding some comfort in her faith in God. Bless her.

If it were that easy, Ron_Lee, to get a job or a better one, don't you think that the majority of people would do just that? Where have you been the past year? The economy is climbing an uphill battle and the job market is still trailing behind. It's getting better though, but you shouldn't be so judgemental towards others because you don't know their personal situation. If deals are available then it helps bring more business while the consumer saves some money. So, why not take advantage of those deals? After all, that's exactly what they are there for. BTW, practice what you preach about the true meaning of Christmas.

Do you know of an organization where we could send items to them that they could use?

You know what? I wouldn't have said a thing until she stated what she did. I found it a bit insulting and I stated as much. I never disrespected the program or said one negative thing about it. As a matter of fact, I think it's a fantastic idea and I hope they bring in loads of candy. However, I don't take too kindly to someone making negative assumptions about what my/our children are (or are not) taught based on a couple of harmless sentences that I and a few others left on here. So, get it straight... she criticized us. Her statement implied that we have not taught our children how to share, which couldn't be further from the truth. That was a very pompous assumption of her to make. So, obviously that 'criticism' was what upset me... as I'm sure it would any parent. Too bad if you don't like it.

Actually, I think you missed the point. I don't think anyone on here mentioned anything about "taking" anything away and please don't assume that our children are not already taught the meaning and rewards of giving to others. Prior to your comment, no one had made any insensitive comments on here. So,get off your high horse.
