Melissa's show was well done and very smooth. Only one tiny culinary error--in making a torte, quiche or savory pastry using cheese and wet ingredients--layer the cheese in first--this prevents the bottom crust from becoming soggy. This is what is taught at the CI A and not a tip that I came up with and it does work.

I hope that I am not coming across in a mean spirited manner. I will not castigate anyone! Idon't know you and we all enter dangerous territory when demeaning comments are made. There are bloggers who have been quite assertive with their point of view, including spiltmilk and Sue but all opinions are important for dialogue to happen. I will not be intimidated by others because I lose --and it affects my freedom to write and speak freely. We can all blog with civility towards each other. I have never, in my posts indicated that I would boycott Melissa or FN. I agree with others who want more in the way of cooking shows.

Thanks for responding to the corundrum of lobster and bluberries. Ice cream could work if the liasion ingredients go with both star elements. I enjoy thinking out of the box! I liked your comments about FN reaching out to people who love to cook. We are not food snobs. We do not know it all We simply wish to be inspired!

I responded because I felt that some of the comments are turning into the mean-spirited realm. I assure you that I am rosesherwood and not Sue A. I started bloging only after my family won the B. Flay limerick challege. Thought It would be fun but when it becomes too much an attack then I have to question myself as to the worth of all of this. I do not know you and you do not know me. Sue has positives and negatives in her messages--just like I do--it is as simple as this. I hope that FN will read the comments and know that there are people out here that are not being reached.

Oh, I forgot I am excited about taking a boot camp course at the CIA. There are people out here watching FN that really want a little more to be inspired by and have skills and knowledge to want to go further. How is FN going to reach these people?

When people are commenting under a cute name, it is easier to make snide, rude and downright nasty comments. I have enjoyed reading Sue A's statements. She is thoughtful about FN being more in tune with the home cook who wants to reach for more demanding techniques and recipes. I am not overly upset about Melissa being chosen and it does seem that there are plans to use Jeffrey--terrific. But for the seasoned home cooks out in the world (I am well-seasoned--sweet, salty, peppered, but not sour or bitter as I have been stewing--in my own juices for almost 60 years), there has to be something more. I think that everyone who has blogged should come up with a recipe for lobster and blueberries (a fascinating corundrum).

Great comment! And a well researched one as well! I could not have said it better. I am not oposed to Melissa but I know that this show will not fulfill my creative standards. We need shows that showcase excellence and raise us to greater heights with our own home cooking.

Thank you--I'll check it out. Those two women were marvelous! So humerous and bright. They were the "Paula Deen" of their day.

I hope that you are watching Anthony Bordaine. His show "No Reservations" is on the travel channel. It is an amazingly intelligent show and the narrative, written by Bordaine is edgy and at times poetic.

Ah! Someone who remembers the "Two Fat Ladies",Clarissa and Jennifer. Now that was a classy, informative, endearingly funny production! I miss them and wish that I could get a hold of some of their shows so that I could revisit them. FN really has to strive to produce a similiar show. Thanks for the memory. They were hilarious and smart.
