Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Leaving church before it's over.

I dont think most normally mannered, civilized human beings would leave a church service until it was over. I know i never have or would...unless it was a snake handling "church".

Remember in the 80's how Amy Grant was raked across the coals? She sang a lovely and tasteful duet with Peter Cetera? So ridiculous.

You see.....everyone assumed Dio was saluting Satan. Thats a nice, and dare i say, touching story of where Dio really got the gesture. Rest in Peace my man.

Axe??? Do guys seriously still buy this crap. If you want to smell good guys buy a bottle of good fragrance, not cologne, and expect to pay close to $100.00 smackers on a decent bottle of it. I know about these things. I'm the king of fragrances.....mens and womens.

Alot of the heavy metal bands are not "satanic" anyway. They dont worship the devil. 99% of them are just normal dudes playing extreme music and doing outrageous things in their stageshows and videos. Take Iron Maiden for example. Bruce Dickenson is a family man. He has a couple of kids and a wife and seems like a really nice guy. The same goes for the fellows in Metallica. Laid back guys with views most Americans have about things.....i saw their special on MTV years ago and they were all perfectly normal guys who experience the same things the average, non famous loser experiences. Vince Neil is another good examply. He had a daughter that he loved very much who died a few years ago and it crushed him. The people in these bands are not some blood sucking, murderous people.

It was the 80's and we were young and impressionable......and brainwashed. It doesnt happen anywhere at the level it did back in the 80's but i think christians have evolved greatly since then.

I remember this. Theres alot of good footage in this documentary and i would love to see it all. Also, i didnt know 80's Madonna was considered rock n roll. When i was in high school you were considered way lame if you listened to her. She was to teeny bopper back then.

Badk in the early 80's when i was a teenage punk i had quite the heavy metal album collection...close to 100. Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast, Venom's Welcome to Hell (the first Black Metal album i believe), NWOBHM acts like Motorhead, Saxon and Girlschool, and tons others. In the late 90's i got into the subgenre, black metal. Black metal would be what is called screamo now i guess. Bands like Dimmi Borgir, Immortal (probaby the best black metal band ever), Cradly of Filth, Darkthrone, Astarte (an all female black metal band from Greece), Thornspawn, and Blood Stained Dusk. Black metal, though, is in your face "devil music". And, actually, there are some christian black metal bands even though that sounds like an oxymoron. The best one being Horde. The only christian band to release a CD, Hellig Usvart, on a record label known for their satanic acts. Antestor is another awesome christian black metal band from the cold, dark forrests of Norway.

I had flown home on September 10 to get some paperwork on the house i bought. On September 11th, 2001 i was in bed until 9:30am and my parents woke me up out of a dead sleep to tell me what was going on. I was horrified as i watched the second tower topple.

Actually, most Americans ARE NOT christian. They just think they are. And, no, i'm not God and judging people in regards to their salvation. It's just true.

Food poisoning SUCKS big time. I've had it three times. I hate it when i get to the point when i've vomited all the contents of my stomach of every tiny little substance and then start to dry heave. It's a horrible feeling and i've been to the hospital each time to get relief. I'm not one of these people who can just let lit pass.
