Our Rising Sound : Poll: Is your primary reason for staying at your church your pay?

I stay because it is where God has me. In fact, I am about to take a 50% paycut. The awesome thing is, without any advertisment or seeking on my own part, a large side job came up at the same time as my cut. God always provides; it's kind of crazy. For years, I was a "full-time volunteer" doing work on the side and it looks like I will be there again.

Looks like you were working on this as I wrote it. As far as content, I love it all. The words that challenges us, the cool new thing you ran across, service programming, working with creatives - it's all good.

Ragamuffin Soul : Ragamuffin Revival Prayer Service

I have been very sick and I accidentally took too much nyquil last night. This caused me to over sleep and miss a funeral that I was supposed to take part in. Please pray that those above me would have mercy on me after my huge mistake.

Looking at your examples I noticed that all of your text was uppercase, but you didn't write anything about it. Is that something that you recommend or was it just a coincidence that all of your examples were in all caps.

Ragamuffin Soul : Close The Gap - My One Year Anniversary at Buckhead Church

I am supposed to be working on late night projects right now, but this post has been in my thoughts for the last few days. I had to look it up. I've watched it happen at my last church. But a year and a half later at a new place, we've only moved "inches". I know it's not a formula. How do we get there?

Ragamuffin Soul : What's Next

The iPod and the single has changed the entire music landscape, not just the church. Every genre/sound has a place. It will go multi-services with multiple styles. We already do it (and others do too). We have a Sunday morning "acoustic/world/folk" service and a "rock/pop" service. As the worship leader, I love both services. For years I've been an "anything but country and rap" musician; I realize that there are very few things sweeter than twang of a tele and I'm just too white to rap, but I'll help drop the groove. The real next step may not be defining "what sound is next", but the maturing of our musicians to appreciate all forms of music as a gift from God.

Human3rror : The Question: 15\" or 17\" MacBook Pro?

I had a 17" Powerbook, old and not the same, but I imagine the footprint is similar. It was a pain to use on airplanes with the tray table, depending on the plane, not possible at all. That was the only time that having the larger machine was a problem. Other than that it was great. I actually switched to an iMac which I carry around in an iLugger.com. Won't work in coffee shops or a park bench, but I travel to the office, different, jobs, use it on stage, etc. I can do much more serious work on it. I'm planning on getting a 13" for traveling.
