Also, in response to criticism of Patti for "allowing" this to happen 3 more times, I would like to add that she contacted NUMEROUS sites/shelters, and none of them, at the time, had the resources or availability to help the cat. Being in the midst of kitten season, and with all of the shelters already overloaded, she could not find a "no-kill" group with the availability to take the cat. She fed and watered him and did her best to look out for him when he was around, but please note that he was also a stray cat, and, having initially been abandoned in January, did display some behaviors typical of a stray, like not wanting to be picked up or held. I just wanted to point that out. Knowing the situation and people as I do, Patti is very much an animal lover and did everything she could think of at the time to get the cat help as quickly as possible.

I am related to Patti and would like to clarify things a little, if I may. I can't tell you for sure EXACTLY what the cat was shot with, but I can tell you that it was certainly hard enough and expelled fast enough to penetrate his side and cause injury. I saw him shortly after the first incident and the wound was a very clear hole, in his side, at the very LEAST 1/2 inch deep, and possibly deeper.
