/Film : Die Hard: Year One

because it is easier to ignore when it isn't in film form... also once it becomes a film it officially becomes part of the franchise and then is a canonical part of the story.

as long as this stays a comic I am ok with it... but I have a feeling they'll find a way to make a movie out of it. Live Free of Die Hard was bad enough, this would just be atrocious. Let's just hope that it stays in comic form.

/Film : Geek Deal: Planet of the Apes Blu-Ray Collection for $58

There are a total of 5 original movies. Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape From the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Granted only four of those were made in the 70s but that is because the first movie was made in 1968. I am very torn on whether or not to buy this one. It is a great price but I own all the movies on standard DVD in the ape head packaging. I think the only one I really watch enough to justify buying on blu-ray is the first one. There are some great special features in this set though. Owning the whole set on both DVD and Blu-ray is going to take up a lot of shelf space too and just seems unnecessary but I don't want to get rid of the ape head set because it has the TV series and carton series in it too... and it just looks cool sitting on a shelf.

The comparisons to Brick are kind of scaring me away from this. I absolutely hated that movie. I'd be willing to give this one a shot though, maybe it is better.
