Is there no place in your community where the sun shines? Is there no water flowing? The wind never blows?

First, energy independence is not achieved by purchasing power from some company states away. True energy independence, is individual energy independence, and there are plenty of American homes that could greatly benefit from wind or solar power.

Second, national security is not achieved by centralized power production. You and your community would benefit from localized power production. Our power grid is stretched because ofthe centralized way we produce power. Power is wasted on the lines, long before the consumer turn on the bulb. Power, "shipped" across country, is not as efficient or economical asthe power produced on the roof.

Third,if weput the power on the sunny or windy rooftops, we would cut the demand on the grid.Thus increasing supply.Thus bringing the cost to the consumers that are in a dark, dry and stagnant areas like you.
