Tikun Olam-תקון עולם: Make the World a Better Place : Saving Ramat Shlomo for the Jewish People...and Chabad

You're out of yr gourd. I quoted the JPost w/o changing a word of what the Ramat Shlomo resident said. The resident said that even dogs couldn't live where they intended to put in new housing. In truth, Palestinians would love to build there but can't because Israel refuses to allow to build on their own land.
Richard immediately writes that Arabs are considered dogs, an inflammation that he made up.
You know as well as I that it is extremely common to hear among settlers that Arabs are dogs. YOu can see such graffiti relatively regularly in Hebron & other such settlements.
he and other residents want more local homes.
Yes, they certainly do. They want to steal Arab land & make more homes for Jews, something to which I object. What's yr address btw? Ramat Shlomo, Hebron, Yitzhar, Kfar Tapuach?

Tikun Olam-תקון עולם: Make the World a Better Place : Im Tirtzu Threatens Lawsuit Against Facebook Group

Uh, I beg your pardon but yes, freedom of speech gives very wide latitude & the anti-Im Tirtzu Facebook group has certainly not libelled or lied about Ronen Shoval & Im Tirtzu. So let Shoval bring suit. Let's test the law & see if you're right or I'm right. If Israel is a democracy, then the court will throw out Shoval's suit so fast his head will spin. The threat to democracy comes fr. Im Tirtzu & not from its critics.

I know the diff. bet. the Shin Bet & military intelligence & you've read my post rather sloppily if you come away w. that impression. She is being investigated by the Shin Bet as I understand. I wasn't aware that military intelligence has an investigative arm for those who violate IDF secrets. If I'm wrong someone can correct me. You & I both know that the IDF is angry at Kam & Haaretz for publishing this story & a good deal of the Shin Bet's motivation is to punish her for embarrassing the IDF publicly & revealing it flouts Israeli Supreme Court rulings.

Keep in mind that van Creveld gave this interview in 2002 before the Lebanon & Gaza wars which proved the IDF had no clothes. You might credibly have argued in 2002 that the IDF was one of the best armies in the world. You couldn't argue that now. As you said, up to the par of a NATO country, but no higher.

Tikun Olam-תקון עולם: Make the World a Better Place : Jeff Bridges Wins Best Actor Oscar, Ajami Loses

Ajami has been touted by multiple American Jewish film festivals as the cream of the crop of the Israeli film industry. The MFA was in overdrive promoting it for its Oscar consideration. It did so w/o any regard to content or substance. For them, this was merely an Israeli product to be sold to the world. This annoyed Copti. Have you actually read what Limor Livnat has said about Copti & the film both before & after the blow up?

So I suppose Halevi may be correct that there are Israeli Palestinian citizens leasing apartments in his neighborhood (French Hill). But there are certainly no E. Jerusalem residents buying there as he claims. And I revert to my previous question: why should the ownership by an Israeli citizen (of Arab descent) of an apt. in French Hill be a troubling issue for Halevi? And is such a concern characteristic of a "moderate" Israeli??

No wonder you have a reputation in the blogosphere for being a zionist!
Good golly Miss Molly...a Zionist?? Really? How dreadful. What must I do to expiate my sins? Just tell me & I'll get right on it. I have no idea what you're "on" about. van Creveld isn't saying here that HE believes in deportation or transfer. He's saying that it becomes a more attractive alternative to more & more Israelis the longer the Intifada goes on. And that such a reversion to anti-democratic policies will result in the gradual destruction of Israel. I don't have any problem w. this analysis whatsoever. Van Creveld isn't saying that Israel DOES target European cities, only that it COULD do so if it felt its existence was threatened. Again, this is hypothetical in the extreme, but certainly interesting to consider as a possibility if a chain of events occurred which endangered Israel's existence. Also, the original van Creveld interview was in Dutch for a Dutch magazine. The interview has been translated into English & I understand not too well.
I know we in the UK certainly don't.
If you think for a second that Britain or any country possessing nuclear weapons wouldn't use them on ANY country, even an ally, if former's very existence was under threat, you're naive & sadly mistaken.

There are no legal restrictions for East Jerusalem or Israeli Palestinians to buy property anywhere in Jerusalem or the rest of Israel.
This is not true. In fact, the Supreme Court was pressuring the Jewish National Fund to change its policy which prevents non Jews from leasing any of its land (which constitutes a large percentage of Israeli lands) & the Knesset was considering legislation which would have allowed this discrimination to continue. There have also been numerous cases of specific communities (moshavot & the like) which specifically refuse to allow non-Jews to buy or lease property.

You & I have argued this endlessly here & I'm not plowing over the same ground again. Israeli opinion polls consistently show my views as more mainstream than yours or those of Halevi. Oslo was in 1993, nearly 20 yrs ago. What has he done lately besides justifying the Sheikh Jarrah evictions as if they caused him moral qualms because alleged Palestinians are buying apts in Jerusalem? I'm not going to continue arguing w. you about whose views are more mainstream. You are an ardent settler supporter & your views are shared w. about 20-30% of Israelis. That's the truth, hard as it may be for you to accept.

I see no attack whatsover by Copti on the Israeli film industry or the agency which funded him. And for the 3rd time (ea. time you neglect to mention this) the executive who runs the film agency was at the after awards party & was interviewed by the Jewish Journal & said he was happy w. the film & had no problem w. what Copti said. YOU can take what Copti said in any way YOU want. But that's not what matters. What matters is how he is viewed within the film industry & agency. And if he is viewed negatively whether he can find other funding sources. I maintain he will likely be able to surmount these obstacles in his career & may even benefit.

how can you prove he DOESN'T mean that he will do it himself
I don't have to prove anything. If you want to attack Iran it is YOU who will have to prove that such a belligerent act is justified. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does not have th power to make Iranian foreign policy & that includes a decision to go to war. Does Shimon Peres, also a president of a country, have such power? No. This power is in the hands of the Ayatollah, not Ahmadinejad. You know this yet you choose conveniently to ignore it. Ignorance is bliss.
